Every once in a while, usually if i need to break in a hurry, the vision has stalled. always starts again right away, but it just dies for no apparent reason. Anyone else?

I am new to this forum so I will probably get yelled at for my response, but it has to be an adjustment on the TPS or a week spring on the TPS. I have the same issue on my 2010 Vision. I am going to check my spring. I believe what happens, and it is probably an EPA issue, but when you release the throttle real quick, it shuts off the fuel and the motor stalls. If my spring is ok, I am going to install the Lloyds Idle air control valve for about $77 which slows the response of shutting off the fuel and SHOULD keep it from stalling. I will do this in a week or so and will be happy to post my results.

For us old moto-cross guys ... I used to "blip" the throttle on downshifting going into a corner to help with gear mesh. When I got on my vison and did the same I could get it to stall sometimes. I dont' do that anymore.
Do not know if it helps...

its not just moto cross guys, I have always done this but I have driven many vehicles that do not have a synchronised transmission, so it is second nature. Also on road courses in a bike or a car you do the same thing.

ok, as I said I am new to this forum. So why is bliping a no no on the Vision? It still makes for a smoother transition. If it leads to the stalling issue that I and others have, I would still say that it has to be an issue with the TPS adjustment or spring.

?I'm running a VFC III and I had it stall a time or two. But it is EXTREMELY rare, like maybe twice last year. This year, I've changed my riding habits some and due to popping, I started rolling out just a tad slower and that seems to have stopped the popping and no stalls since.

This anecdotal evidence backs up Dave's idea of fuel shut off.

I thought I remembered reading on this site long ago that blipping the throttle was an issue because of the closed loop fuel injection system. Do not know for sure if this is correct or not. I just don't blib anymore.

I have had the same blipping issue with occasional stalls. And for me it seems to be the responsiveness of the engine. Seems sometimes the 106 is very slow to respond to quick throttle action and it trys to stall or stalls. It's as if there is a delay between my throttle action and the engines response. I say 106 as the Vision is not the only Victory bike with this engine and throttle set up. I have never had this "responsiveness" issue with any other engine. I just assumed it's an idiosyncrasy of the 106 and try not to blip. Sometimes the hassle of finding the problem takes so much efort and downtime it just ain't worth it. I'd rather not blip and RIDE BABY RIDE!!

I think Lloyd touches on some of the reasons not to Blip the throttle in this article on our site.

My has only done this twice in almost 56000 miles and both times were in the same day. My battery terminal were just a little loose. Tightened them up and have had no more problems. Even if you cant wiggle them side to side they may still not be making good enough contact all the time. hope this helps. the Vision hates
loose connecters. It does all kind of weird stuff with bad connections.

On every bike I've had before this was a symptom of the idle speed being too low. Is the idle adjustable on this bike?

Nothing wrong with any spring or anything else. Blipping will not make it shift better. I read the Lloyd's article long time ago and it is relevant here.
Anybody see the Danny Treho movie 'Machete'. Well, Machete don't text (blip).

I have read that article before and Lloyd certainly knows his stuff. Maybe it is my terminology of "blipping" the throttle, but if it is quickly raising the RPM's on a downshift, there is no doubt the shift and mesh between the motor and tranny will be smoother.

You need to change your upper connecting rod bearings!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look you are riding a Victory, Try changing fuel, I did this 3 years ago and no more stalling, or popping. I stumbled upon the cure, however many like to believe you need to through good money at the problem!!!! Remember the phrase KISS

It

... If my spring is ok, I am going to install the Lloyds Idle air control valve for about $77 which slows the response of shutting off the fuel and SHOULD keep it from stalling. I will do this in a week or so and will be happy to post my results.

So... I'm wondering about the Lloyds Idle Air Control Valve:

1. Who has actually installed one and tried it?

2. Did it actually solve the stalling problem?

3. Where can you buy one?

Thanks!

Before you spend money write Rylan at the vic shop and ask him how to reset your TPS or if you should replace it.

The IAV just might not change your stalling
