Re-enacted with the 7th Tennessee Cavalry Regiment Company D Civil war unit for several years. It's a great rush doing a mounted charge on a horse...

Eight years active Army with one combat tour, followed by 23 years of National Guard with a one year deployment - at age 54 I found my engineer butt humping a 60 pound pack, working 14 hour days, 12 on 2 off and starting every day with an hour of PT. Now that'll get your attention! Aged out and retired in 2008. But there are still days when I miss it!

I used to hang out with a motorcycle club in Birmingham, AL for a while. I kind of stood out, as I was the only white guy there. They gave me the nickname 'Lone Ranger' because of it.

I found that riding my Vision was and is a nessecity and given that it is a Ness, it worked for me.

I name my Vision Liandra after a spaceship on Babylon 5 Legend of the Rangers and decided to use that for my screen name.

I love primates (monkeys, apes, gorillas, etc). I've collected all things primate for years. About 12 years ago, I needed a nick for a forum and Primateman was taken so I went with Monkeyman. Been that ever since. Everyone knows me at that or they just shorten it to Monk. Even my bike plate reflects my love for primates (PRIME 8).

Had a person warn a new riders " what this guy calls a Sunday morning ride is what most would consider a road trip" this was after he went to breakfast with me and the dinner I picked was in Vermont some 3+ hours away (excellent country roads all the way). So I took that and the fact that I live in RHODE Island and RhodeTrip.

I choose mine, back in the day, when I was ink crazy. Still am, to some degree. But after well over 100 hours 'chair time', I have pretty much run out of room, until I retire. Then we'll see what I can fill in from there. There's always doing some laser work, then re-covering. Hmmm..

MIC was a nickname I picked up in grade school and kept using for the 3 letter high score screens in arcades. When online stuff got bigger MIC was too popular so I added the ego trip (ah, a young teen's folly) and have kept it ever since.

Hero worship of "Big Daddy" Don Garlits as a kid growing up. Grew up and hung out with a friend that raced in Top Fuel.

Taken from my best buddy Sampson Jacob (aka SammyJ or Super Dog), my black lab of 13 amazing years. He went every where with me. I carry his tag so he will always go with me .

Another response from NW IL ... Hey SammyJ, we met at the Victory Demo Rides in Sterling late fall.

Anyway, back on topic: HLUSN8 = hallucinate (sound it out and say the number), as in having a VISION.
It came to me as an idea when I was waffling over personalized plates and yes HLUSN8 is my IL MC plate.

HLUSN8 I remember meeting you, I enjoyed our conversations and rides. This year we will get together and go for a ride. Are you going to the AVR this year? I think your screen name and plate are very clever.

I was a radar engineer for many years, resuscitating dead and sick systems.
I still work supporting the warfighter on many other systems.

My high school football coach once said "Boy, you are as big as a Moose" (6"4' and 300 lbs) It stuck....my grandkids all call me "Papa Moose".

And 381 is my lucky number.........and that really sucks because it doesn't turn up very often.
