My name is Denny (Dennis) and I've been riding motorcycles since 1970 (legally licensed). The reason I joined this forum is my very recent (last Friday) purchase of a new 2012 Cross Country. I'm not new to Victory motorcycles having owned a 2004 Kingpin. I am retired and enjoy riding very much, putting 8,000 to 10,000 miles a year on my bikes. I have already ordered a different windshield (7 Jurock 14" w/flip) and a set of D&D slip-on mufflers for the bike. My new Cross Country is Sunset Red with Silver Graphics.

Welcome to the site Denny glad you signed in. Sounds like you have a nice looking bike, but some pics would be really nice. Just a thought on some future up grades that will enhance the driveabiliy, in my opinion, Lloyds VFC3 and a computer reflash by Lloyds.I guaranteeno negative effect on depenability or reliability, and noticeable smoothness, throttle response, and fuel milage. I personally went from 180miles per tank to 220 miles per tank. All pluses no minuses, cost approx. 500.00, installation difficultyscale 1-10about a 4.5, rewards,

Welcome Denny.... Best of luck with the new Cross Country. It's a wonderful bike to put the miles on with.

I've tried to upload pictures from my computer but they must be too big (over 640 width or 100 KB). I don't see where to downsize them to fit an attachment. As for the bike I already am over 200 miles on it in the first five days of ownership. So far it's a really sweet ride. I live in Fostoria, a small town in Northwestern Ohio about 45 miles South of Toledo.

Denny- I would like to read your opinion of the Jurock after you put some miles on it. I am thinking of a Jurock for my VV.

Actually I once had a 2004 Kingpin that I bought new. During the three years I had it (21,000 miles) it got the 100 cubic inch big bore kit, the K&N filter, Victory Performance pipes, and a dyno tuned Power Commander III USB. Towards the end of this period my wife took an interest in going riding on the back with me. That's when the bottoming out and small uncomfortable passenger seating became issues. The hidden monoshock was a pain to adjust preload on and the bike just didn't have the two-up comfort we wanted. I traded it in on a new 2007 Star Roadliner 1900 shortly before I retired. This was a big improvement in ride quality and I added Ultimate Seats, Corbin Saddlebags & Trunk as well as some very loud HK 3" Big Straights. We actually rode this bike to Washington D.C. in 2010 for Rolling Thunder and rode in the event there. There was still the difficulty of adjusting rear preload though and we bottomed out a few times on that trip. I eventually (3 years again) went up to the big daddy of them all, the Triumph Rocket III Touring in September of 2010. The Beast was my nickname for it as it out-powered and out torqued everything I ever had. The twin shocks were easy to get at and adjust preload and it came with a gel touring seat and it rode perfectly two-up. I added a tour pack trunk from Scootworks with a big backrest and luggage rack on top. Perfect right?? Not so fast, gasoline mileage sucked (low to mid 30s) and when a small spring (detent spring) in the transmission broke last August under warranty both Triumph and the dealer put me through 43 days of hell getting this bike fixed. They finally did but by that time I was so fed up that I went back to the other dealer who sold me the Roadliner (who in the interim got a Victory franchise) and traded for this new Cross Country that I now ride with pride.

I've had sixteen bikes over those 42 years and this is the second Victory. Most of those bikes were Japanese, Hondas, Yamahas and one Kawasaki. Two were Triumphs and each one of those 16 bikes were different, most were good and some bad. They all were my rides and they all served their purpose.

Glad you found all the good forums Welcome and enjoy. My wife and I both have a XR. Her's is black mine is whatever that red is. We love our bikes and have no regrets. Most days, can't wait to find a reason to ride. We are retired as well.
