On my "I want your ideas" thread some posted that they wanted a more comfortable handle bars. We are currently making some now and want to know what sizes are you looking for. For example 1" up and 1" back? 2 up 2 back, 1 up 2 back ect ect. Please let me know what your looking for as we are building the jigs now so we can produce them.

Questions I have:
  1. Do all visions take the bolt on handlebar ends?
  2. Are all the vision controls the same? switch housings, cruise, radio etc. I'm going to make a how to video and want to make sure I cover all aspects.
  3. Do you want chrome, black or raw bars?
  4. Does an internal wiring option really matter on a Vision?
  5. Is installing handlebars something you would try or would you have a dealer install them.

Thanks for the help. I look forward to making you guys some cool parts that make a more comfortable ride as well as look great!

1" up/2" back in black powdercoat to match the factory powdercoat/paint (like on the '12 Vision).

1. I'm pretty sure they do. You could always offer some new/different ends for the stock size (including yours) bars.
2. Dunno.
3. Black for me, but I'd offer chrome, too, at different price points.
4. I wouldn't run my wiring inside the bars but it might be a good idea to make them so someone could drill a couple holes if they want that option. I'd predrill the single hole for the OEM plastic keeper. I'd hate to drill that hole and chip/scratch the powdercoating. If Vic ever goes to TBW, inside the bar wiring might be decent. At this point, there are too many other things that would have to stay outside the bars.
5. I'd install them myself and I'm not very good with tools. Once you remove the radio bridge and controls, it's just a matter of unbolting 2 bolts then torquing them back down.

I'd make sure the bar diameter stayed the same as stock with the same step down for the controls.

2. the 8 balls did not have cruise or radio controls but everything else on the bars was the same

The ness apes do not require any longer cables or anything. Dunno how tall those are but it would be a good reference.

I would like to see 2" back with grip ends angled out about 10 to 15 degrees more than the factory bars. After riding for an hour or two my wrist start to hurt from the angle of the grips. I find that I tend to ride with just the outside edge of my palms against the grips with the thumb and index fingers not touching the grips at all. I'm not sure I'm making sense, I would like the grips more perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bike.

+1 on angle of grips. I think 22* is about optimal. I know the OEM bars are angled much better than alot of others but could still be improved a little.

SO 10-15 DEGREES MORE IS PUSHING THE BAR FORWARD. dO YOU MEAN 10-15 DEGREES LESS? LESS WOULD BRING YOUR HANDS CLOSER TO THE CENTER LINE OF THE BIKE.

I would want the bars to bring my hands a couple inches farther back and the grip more perpendicular to the center line of the bike. I feel like my hands are twisted just a little too much toward the outside. My wrists feel like they are in a bit of a compression bind and after an hour or so it become a little uncomfortable. It was the same with my previous bike as well so it may just be me.

Kinda funny we can't move our bars cause of the way there made and we would move them if we could. The Cross bikes can move there bars but they don't.
Factory setting don't always please all of us.

I would prefer 1" up and 2" back and the grips turned more like drag bars. I was use to riding a Kawasaki Meanstreak before my Vision and the handlebars on it were always comfortable to me. I don't know what kind of clearance issue might be involved with this set-up.

I am 6'2" tall and I would LOVE a set of 4" up and 2" back handlebars in chrome for an '08 Vision...that would straighten out my back as I ride!!...from a "business" standpoint, if you would offer handlebars in say, an EVEN number, (ex: 2", 4", 6", 8" up from stock) that alone would provide a great amount of variety in the market alone...anything is better than those darn stock bars!!... That was Victorys biggest mistake to date, the way they set up the Vision handlebars!!...lol

I would need 2" up 1" back. Agree with others the grips need to be a bit more perpendicular to the centerline of the bike. Prefer chrome, black would work! Internal wiring not interested, have had problems before.
Would install myself. Custom ends would be nice as an option, but stock should work.

I didn't read anything about hinged grip ends, just that the grips need to be "flatter".

If I'm not mistaken the early models used an oblong shaped tube but the newer ones are round. Guessing that will make a difference for bolt on application of controls. Perhaps someone else can confirm if it is an issue.
