The Poconos
Well........got a call from the dealer today.

They found the tank-to-tank line vent, a rubber hose that runs between the front of both tanks, had a hole rubbed in it from an electrical connector. Every time the bars were turned left it pinched the hose.

after filling up i smell fuel it is very strong and i am wondering.
1- do we fill up on the side stand?
or sit up right on the bike to fill.

and has anyone had gas blow out of the carb onto
the lower portion just under the seat
of the bike when accelerating hard at high rpms's ?
thanks tom

Ok...I found MY gas smell and I am NOT happy! I found out that I twisted the cap on and missed on one side. The cap rotated on and bent the locking portion (the aluminum part) of the TANK. AAARGH! I was and AM NOT happy!

I can't believe that the aluminum is THAT thin. I tried to straighten it with a pair of pliers and only managed to bend the down spout a bit. SO, another method will need to be done to get it straight again.

Basically, there is no solid seal any longer and it allows gas to come out around the cap. VERY annoying!
