The wife just bought me the Vic trunk rack for my birthday for my vision that I have wanted but been refusing to pay the price on, but now happy to have it. The install was relatively seamless although the instructions say 45 minutes. 45 minutes my ass. Maybe it's me but it took a couple hours. 1 question I have is when I put the screws back in the hinges they didnt seem to want to cinch up very tight. Is this normal? Also, the rubber bumpers I installed made the trunk lid closing kinda tight but the good news is that it took some of the rattles out of the trunk. Thoughts?

Yes, the trunk needs a good shove to close it. Sorry, I had the dealer install mine so I can't answer the hinge screw question.

I don't have the rack, but the rubber bumpers that are available from the dealer help with the trunk rattles.....Had them on about a year now....

I did mine myself and didn't have any issue with the screws. Maybe if you get wifey to help and sturdy the lid then you can loosely install them all at once and go around again for the final tightening to make sure all the heads have set. That's my best guess.

some of the rattle on my 2011 came from the rear speaker grills which I slid a small piece of the furry velcro under the bottom to tighten it up.

I couldn't get my lid to close after installing the rubber bumpers. Even after slamming it down with substantial force, it was maybe one out of ten that would be successful. I finally shortened them up a little with a belt sander and they work fine now.

I bought the CycleOps Top trunk luggage rack. The instructions are not very good. Does anybody have there original Victory instructions they could send me a picture of?

I had to shorten the bumpers on mine about 3/16". But I had also shortened the latch hooks the same amount to get rid of the GAP and stop the lid from bouncing.
