Beer Collins, Colorado (there is no fort)
I use a scotch brite pads and just hit the edges- green pads work OK but for a little more shine try the gray super fine along with some Bike Brite Moto Black spray. The bigger question is: Where's the rust coming from on an aluminium head? The only thing I know that can rust at the cylinder is the spark plug base. Are you washing the bike and not blowing out the plug wells or running the bike to evaporate the trapped water? If it's the plugs that are rusting be sure to blow the well clean after you loosen the plug but before you completely remove them when replacing so no crap falls down into your cylinder.

take a old tooth brush and buy a orange cut in half squeeze the juice into something. Scrub good after rust is gone rinse with water and dry.

Does Coca Cola still take rust off? It used to but maybe they had to change the ingredients?
Once it's all cleaned off make sure that you use some kind of oil to prevent from coming back.
Maybe a light rub with 3 in 1 oil.
Also check around the area that something else isn't rusting and is dripping onto the fins.

Coca used to eat up a steak in 3 hours now it does nothing. Only good with rum

+1. I've used never dull on LOTS of metal that I wanted to shine. Works great and has removed a LOT of surface rust on an older project motorcycle of mine. Works great!
