Any guesses as to why it just quit working? One day it was fine, next time I go to ride, nothing.

All replies welcome, as I need all the help I can get. Dealer charges too much labor to diagnose any problems like this.

Honestly I went through (3) 2720 units... 1 new and 2 refreb.. I gave up on them. I know they give audio through the radio. But the other features of that unit 2820 is pretty dated to say he least. At least compared to 2013 gps units... more than likely it died.

Do you have the car mount adapter- does it work with that or with the A.C. adapter? If the unit is dead, let me know and I'll check my old one. I think it still works, but coming from a Zumo 550, I never liked it. If you call Garmin, they may upgrade you to a Zumo 660 or 665 for a real reasonable fee. The Zumo 6** harness has a jumper port that you can connect to the MP3 cable adapter and will play the GPS through the bike audio system although I use the Bluetooth to my Sena helmet intercom. If you really want the 2820 and IF mine is still working, you can have it for the cost of shipping.

That happened with my 2720 a few weeks ago. It was a loose connection, where the power cord plugs into the wiring harness, in the tunnel next to the gas filler cover. The connection wasn't secure anymore, so some shrink tape tightened it up wonderfully.

You also may want to check the connection at the GPS to see if there is any corrosion. Pencil eraser cleans those contacts well.

If he doesn't want it, I do. My 2720 is starting to wear out and Garmin doesn't repair them anymore. I'm assuming my current wiring would work with the 2820...
