When I start my bike it starts fine but once it settles into the normal idle speed it stumbles and dies. If I touch
the throttle that also makes it die. Sometimes i can get it to run a little longer if I mess with the throttle but It usually just dies. It all started about 2 blocks from home when the bike gave a small bang and lurch. I babied it
home and the bike seemed to idle fine and run fine with a light load on the engine but give a little spirited throttle and it would just stumble until the load was relieved from the engine.

I had just replaced the plugs and wires the day before and the bike ran great to work and almost all the way home. I got looking around and discovered that the exhaust crossover pipe was cracked around the welds and was leaking so I removed the exhaust and fixed all the leaks. After reinstalling the exhaust the bike is still doing the same thing so as much as it burns my A** I'm going to have to haul it to the dealer and hope they can diagnose and fix it. I had hoped to never have to see my bike on a trailer but not much choice.

Is there any way to check the pump? If so how and how much pressure is it supposed to have?

sounds like pump also. Try merging on to the interstate in front of a tractor trailer and have the fuel pump go out. Don't know the details of check but I think the psi is 15.

Behind the right cheese wedge is a schrader valve, looks like a tyre fill valve. Take the cap off and bleed it like a tyre valve. The fuel should shoot out preety forcefully, if not the pump may be bad. If I remember correctly the pump operates at 38 psi.. If you have any early 09 or 08 Ma Vic had a batch of bad pumps installed in alot of them and replaced many under wrranty,

Checked the pressure at the valve and there wasn't hardly any pressure. I didn't have a gauge but a 90yr old man
pees with more pressure. Local dealer wants about $700 to put a new pump in. So I got to looking and started to disassemble the bike and had the pump out in less than an hour. I am amazed at how fast it came apart. I know it will take longer to put back together but until I get the new pump for now all I can say is the beer tastes better. Thanks for the tips. I will update when I get the new pump installed.

Is there a fuel filter attached?
Is there any way you can take a few pics and document your process?

The fuel pump does have a Bosch Part # stamped on it, so trying the auto parts store could be a lower cost option.

Got the pump today and got it installed. Wasn't too bad took about an hour and half to get everything back together and buttoned up. Rode it for about 4 blocks and everything felt great. Felt good to be back on the road.

excellent. I know the feeling. Also, you probably notice it's much quieter now before starting.
