I'm kinda suspect about all of this. One, I'm not thrilled over water-cooled motorcycle engines. Two, I don't expect Victory if they were to go water-cooled, the whole line up would be water cooled. Harley's water cool is kind of half-way, like it's a fix for a problem, not a completely new design. Don't know where any of this is going, not really sure what it means to me. Hopefully I'll be spinning my Vision wheels a few more years and that will give me time to see where the options are at that time.

The main thing I took from the article is this:

With Indian assuming the role of classic American cruiser to compete with Harley-Davidson, Victory is now free to carve out a new niche as a maker of modern, high-performance V-twins—think of something to compete with Ducati’s Diavel, rather than Harley’s Road King.

In an interview appearing in the October 2013 issue, Polaris VP of Motorcycles, Steve Menneto, told us that Victory would be retooled “to focus on performance and innovation as core brand values.”

If Victory does this, it will be a new Victory with a new following.

Might this be the "big change and retool" coming to the Vision that some on the design team at Polaris had talked about at AVR last summer? (it would counter the HD Ultra Limited) Sturgis might be even more exciting that I thought it would be this year... last year the Indian this year.......?

I would go for V1 if they also put mid controls and good ground clearance and suspension and triple brakes on it. It could be the new Sport Cruiser I've been waiting for. Forward controls suck for spirited corner carving. The concept needs to have the controls in the dip in the exhaust, not in front of it. 28 to 30 inch seat height. 5 inches of ground clearance. At least 4 1/2 inches of rear suspension travel and at least 5 inches in the front. TRIPLE DISC BRAKES. Alloy wheels--no wire spokes.

Maybe that's why Mr Song isn't mentioned. He could be working on the all new Victory Vision Touring machine!

I know we all want some "new" vision. but in all reality... how many of them have they actually sold in all these years... NOT MADE but sold... i see dealers sitting on models 2-3 years old... I love my vision.. but it isnt exactly their cash cow...

hmmm,
I'm all for Victory making some sportier models, but it wouldn't be anything I would purchase. I like big, fat, heavy road sleds. I would be riding a Honda F6B if it was made by an American Co. (and had a power windshield)

I am pleased with all Polaris has done these last 15 yrs or so. I expect them to be a major game player in the world arena of power sports. Hopefully able to compete with Honda, HD is small potatoes, potatoes, potatoes.
