It'll take a little work, but I always pull my mufflers first before touching the head pipe. A few twist and gentle working back and forth usually works well. I'll pull the elbow with the left side muffler by undoing everything and then letting it drop on it's own and then pull off. When I put it back together I put grease on the pipe joints. It'll burn off and smell a little, but it makes it easier to pull off the next time, much easier. With the $89 you'll save, that'll give you a couple of tanks of fuel.

I just did a swap last Saturday, as stated by Varyder it takes a little work but I did it by myself and It took about an hour for the first one and only about 30 min to do the second. I agree with putting some grease on them. My advise is just be patient and take your time, but it will take a little work. But I would not pay to have this done.
