Well I installed the lifetime oil filter on my vision and i hate to break the news but you still have somewhat of the heat issue. Yes the oil filter does make a minimal dent but you still feel enough heat that you would want to buy wind deflectors about 129.00 which is what im considering.
I didnt but the filter just for the heat its much better for your bike in the long run .Well theres the news........sorry its not all great.

I installed the oil filter on my Vision which is configured just like my buddies Vision (except for the oil filter and driver).  We run side-by-side and mine is just as hot as his and sometime more.

I think the heat sinks maybe picking up the heat from the crossover pipe.  The Vision's oil filter is located behind the oil pan which blocks direct air flow to it.    As they say in real-estate, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION !!!  If the heat sinks were in direct air-flow, it might work better on the Vision.  This is no fault of the oil filter design.

Im confused? Did the maker of the oil filter make claims of a cooler running engine? I cant see how a little oil filter would be able to cool the engine more than the oil cooler which is directly in the path of wind. and i as Tims just said. location is everything. And its location is about as poor as you can get in terms of needing air to cool itself. 8(

Here is their website.

They state the case doubles as an oil cooler, but they do not state any specific Vision related cooling numbers.

I disagree the filter is a good part to buy and prolong the life of your engine and lubricates better than stock oil filters the diffrence is I will never have to buy another oill filter and i do notice a decent diffrence in engine heat just not enough to say its the fix it issue to the heat of the engine.

It may not help the Vision due to the crossover pipe which I intend to heat wrap, I'm also getting one for my 8-Ball........ no crossover pipe.

I would like to see someone with that oil filter (&) the Victory Thermometer Dipstick. That way it wouldnt be about "feeling" it would be about readings of the dipsticks. ya know?

Has anyone thought about adapting the HD parade fan on their Vision? It sure helps on a buddy's Electra Glide.

+1

I guess they figure if they get 1,000 more people to try it....the experiment worked.

Also keep in mind the key to a lot of the more severe heat issues is discussed in this article.

The key indeed is to have a thermometer. Is the engine hot, or does it just feel hot?

Ah, that would be me.  I have run my Vision side-by-side with my buddy's Vision.  We both have the oil temp dipsticks, same pipes, Victory Oil, VFC3 and air box mods.  I have the lifetime oil filter and he does not.  We have tested this on all-day rides in 70-80-90 and 100 degree temps.

THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN TEMPS !!!

The oil filter is surrounded by a VERY HOT crossover pipe and is not in any direct air flow.

HTH,
