Saturday my Vision got it's3rd oil change, it was the first one I did. I noticed right away the motor seemed to have Les and it shifted easier. I am starting to wonder if the dealer used a cheaper bulk oil and charged me for victory oil. the first oil change was at 500 miles the second change was at 3700 miles for its long winter nap. just turned 7kmiles. I think as a result I will stick with victory oil and the 3000mile change schedule the oil change kit was 50 some dollars and took about twenty minutes.

I am pretty sure you bike needs an oil change at 5000 mile intervals.

If you are using the OEM Victory oil, the recommended interval is every 2500 miles. In this household we are
Amazon people, which is where I buy the oil change kit. It includes 5 quarts, the washer, and oil filter. I think it runs around 60 bucks. Vlad.

That changed in interval with the later model years Vlad.  My 2011 Vision's recommeded oil change in 5,000 miles; with the Victory Vision semi-synthetic 20w-40

I have an 09 VV premium. I'm not to sure about the newer models, but in the 08 mechanics manual that I was able to download at no cost I believe it's every 2500 miles if I am not mistaken. Vlad.

In 2011 it changed to every 5000 miles Vlad as they changed to helical cut gears in the transmission.

After the long winter's nap lot of things can happen, although they're small. I wouldn't crap on the dealer yet. Although there are a high percentage that suck, we shouldn't just assume it of them. Even with fresh oil there was moisture in the air when it was changed, bike sat for a long time, could be some grippier spots on the clutch plates. Lots of ferrous materials in the clutch pack, sitting with part of it in oil and part out for a couple of months it happens. Then that oil has to take on the chore of making everything jive again, which is going to be hard on it in both contaminants and pressures. I don't live in a cold place, but I still have enough bikes that some sleep for a portion of the year. It's not at all uncommon for clunky shifts and a little noise as they get back moving. A bit of riding and some fresh blood makes them smooth out - don't shoot the dealer just yet. Keep doing your own oil changes, though - it's kind of like giving your bike a hug.

Funny, I never notice it getting bad, but when I put in the new oil - Wow! I can sure tell the improvement. Rides like she's new!
