Not looking for flammatory comments, just plan ole issues you've had with your original, or not so original 2008 model.  (this is sort of by request).  Don't include "normal" maintenance like brakes, tires, etc, unless it was caliper or failure related.

It has been said in the past by some owners that all of the 2008 had certain issues.  Some of which I've never experienced.  I'm not talking about something you dorked up but didn't think it should have happened, I'm talking about a discovery that should not have happened but did.   It doesn't matter if it was under warranty or not, it was issue noe the less.  I'll list mine and you can add yours, as appropriate.  Be serious, but humor is fine in the process.

I can't change it now, but the rear fender, is the rear portion of the front fender.

out of that , I've only had the seat vinyl tear and throttle side heated grip failure and when I press handlebar radio buttons they have become sensitive to the point that it activates the function of the neighboring button, so I just use the dash buttons. one of the 2 hinges is broken on fuel door but it still works so I don't count it as a door failure. Still use that seat in the winter.

Did have the belt squeal but fixed that with some patience, a Dremel and a few medium grit emery points, also have the same stereo button issues, seat ripping at the stitching, saddlebag dimples and minor ignition issues where I'd turn the switch to on and the dash would not come on, that got fixed with some contact cleaner and dielectric grease.
Bike was delivered Oct 2007.

the dimples were truly a limited edition flaw where the molding process created a dimple on the outside where there was a support rib convergence on the inside. Someone pointed it out to me, first time seeing the bike said, "That's messed up, it's got a dimple." Actually, both doors were like that, So Victory replaced them. I miss the dimples...

Wow, just under 50k on mine and I haven't had any of those problems, maybe I should trade it just to be safe.

Just over 50k and most of the problems were self inflicted. The volume button for the radio used to switch channels but that stopped when I moved to Arizona maybe a humidity problem, cracked side panel was caused by me trying to stop the bike from dropping should of let it go. I also have a dimple on the trunk lid and have replaced fork seals 2x. The fork seals bother me but a shop owner down here says the fine dust and heat wreck everybodies
All this little crap but still very happy with the bike.

no way have I've even thought of trading this bike in.  I've thought about getting a new one, but why when this still has that sweet ride that I find addicting.  The bike is rock solid in spite of the annoyances.  Chances are, you will probably not get any of the problems either.  Keep your fuel above 1/4 tank and ride everyday you can.

I have no intention of trading it, that was just my feeble attempt at being snarky. Success stories like yours give me the utmost confidence in the bike. As long as she doesn't start leaving me on the side of the road, I'm happy.

The only time I got left "on the side of the road" and got a trailer to take her home, I could have done a fix and rode it home. I just didn't feel like messing with it in the wal-mart parking lot in the dark. I share my escapades to do just that, to show how phenomial this bike is. this thing is a work horse that is fun to ride...

when i had my 2008 vision i had to replace or work on

1) Speedometer , due to green (N) light not working anymore . the Entire unit had to be replace. the insurance / warranty through Polaris HAD to pay for it as with out it working the bike FAILS Pa state inspection..

2) adjustment of the saddle bag door(s) "shimmed" alignment issues
3) dealer had to REflash ecu due to stalling issues
4) Radio reception .. or Lack there of...
5) rear rotor had to be replace due to floating part of rotor failed. (NOT) covered by warranty / insurance.

Only thing in 5 years - IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE

Had to get bike (and us) shipped from Bellingham Wa. back to Vancouver dealer - BCAA (AAA) looked after that and warrantee looked after failure.
Not bad for 5 years - for ANY vehicle ...

I just added a problem I had for a very long time. My odometer will be reading one number and then when I start the bike it will be one less. This happens often enough to notice and at one time, giving what it does, I probably have about 2,000 more miles than what the odometer reads. it happened this morning, I went the bike, turned the key on and the odo read ###,899. When I hit the starter and it started, the bike read ###,898. I had to go another mile before it flipped back to 899 and on. I've seen this occur a few times in a day. It doesn't always happens, it just happens frequently. Has anyone else had this problem. I brought it to two dealer attention and one even went to Victory about it and all anyone did was laugh that I brought it up. Curious on my part because it is illegal for a person to taper with an odometer, but I guess it's okay to make a defective one and not take it seriously. What's the harm? None. But it's still defective.

what would be interesting is doing this by model year and see where the trends are. This bike is ridden so even with all of these "problems" this by far any indication that this is a bad bike. It's a great bike and it continues to get better with age.

I fixed the fuel float myself for ~$6, don't really care that the gear indicator is vague at times, but I am a bit annoyed at the audio controls -- 43k miles and and nearly six years makes that a damn short list. That's actually amazing for a first year vehicle of any kind, especially a bike.

It sounds like something I will need to watch for. I have never noticed that happening but I don't pay much attention to the odo. I actively check mine about once a week just to be sure I don't miss routine services.
