I have them on my bike and love them. stickier than the e3's.
Love the handling but not sure how well they will wear, I only have about 1500 miles on them.

I put a set on my Vision-still have the front Cobra-rear was damaged & replaced on tour with 6,000 miles on it. I'd do it again. Currently trying out an E3 MT.

I had front and rear cobras. liked the handling and no cupping but did not get many miles out of them. Went back to dunlop only due to a good price.

I ran the Cobra when i rode a V Star 1300. They were done at 7,500 miles. Switched to an E3 and got double the mileage. I liked the tires but I am not willing to pay a premium price for a tire that doesn't last.

I'm on my fourth set. Super handling, no noise, much better in the wet but less mileage. I get about 7K out of the rear and about 12K out of the front running them hard. I'll stick with them. The benefits outweigh the cost to me.

marcparnes, i know what you mean about NO NOISE.. when i got rid of my 08 vision, i didnt have dunlop E3 so i forgot what they were like.. then all the sudden on my 11 vision, i noticed "this noise".. and many times i would ask my girlfriend, do you hear that? then i would turn down the radio... at first i thought something was rubbing or i had a defective bearing.. i mean it wasnt super loud. but it wasnt there on my 08 when i had other tires.. so when i got rid of my Dunlop E3 last sept the noise was gone!! Most people probably wont notice it or dont care. im picky about noises... =( once i notice a noise i hyperfocus on it, until i find out what it is... lol

If your tires are not singing to you when turning or even easing around a long curve, you are not riding on Dunlops. I had the same thing using Dunlops on my HDs. They were model D402 or something like that but looked just like the OEM E3s on a Victory. As they started to wear they started to sing to me. For me it was a warning to start monitoring tire wear. Now my E3s are singing to me so I am watching them. Wear looks good at 16k miles but the rear is cupping pretty badly.

Have about six hundred on the front cobra. Very smooth handles great. Avon says you hold run them at 42 psi to get full life

Only used on the front. +1 on great handling and poor mileage (10k) - reluctantly went back to E3.

Great handling tires. I have about 3K on my set, but so far so good. With that being said many folks will tell you to change tires every 18 months irregardless of the mileage especially here in AZ where there are significant temp fluctuations. Just a thought.. Vlad.

Cobras are an awesome tire. Last September Avon went with a multi compound Cobra. It was a quite release since Avon wanted to get feedback from the field without customers realizing the change. This information was shared with me from the Avon factory rep during the NY IMS.

The Cobra has superior handling capabilities unlike the E3s (IMHO). They also breeze over road snakes, once again unlike the E3s. They also track much better when it comes to roads being repaved and iron bridges. I have complete confidence in the twisties.

Regarding mileage...The Avon Rep was adamant about keeping proper tire pressure maintain. He said that most of the issues they hear about mileage is from riders that don't adhere to maintaining pressures

Just installed my new Cobra's so I can't provide in-depth review yet. I decided to give them a try because of the positive things I've heard and I found a good price from this store- http://4wheelonline.com .My first impression about these Avon tires is that they are stickier than the Dunlop's.

Second set here. Got 8500 out of the first set.
The front would have gone 2-3K more, changed it out because of long trip, rear was down to the wear bars.
The handling wet or dry is excellent, and no cupping, noise or any other problems.
I ran 40F and 42R on the first set. Have this set at 42F and 44R, Avon says that will give the best mileage.
The handling and ride seem the same at the higher pressure. Hoping to see 10k, we'll see.
Would not consider going back to E-3.

Glad to hear the positive reviews [other than the mileage] for the Avons. I have used E3 for 45k on my bike and would definitely like a tire that is better on the snake and the rain, E 3 is terrible on snakes and rain. Will try Avon's for my next set of tires.

This morning on an uphill aggressive S turn, I felt the back kickout slightly. Very slight correction brought the rear back on track (enjoyed the ride!). I checked out my rear avon cobra and found it to be pretty much bald with with very little tread left out to the edge of the tire. I have about 9K on front and back. Fronts sill have a little life left on it.

Yep, the mileage isn't the best but the handling on dry, wet and road snakes is awesome. I will never put E3s back on my Vision. Note...I ride with the trunk so between the weight and spirited riding style.

Am disappointed now. I thought Avon's would last about the same as the E111. I just put on the Cobra about a thousand miles ago an so far its great but they don't last pass 10 thousand. Not Good. My last front tire was the Metzler ME880 and it handled the tar snake and rain great and it lasted to 17 thousand and it was done for. I'm very anal about checking air and if the Cobra stops at 10 thousand I'll be back to the Metzler

Stick like glue, wear like cotton candy. Once they show a little wear, they are done in a thousand miles.

I liked them, but only got 5900 miles out of the rear, so i'm back on the E3's.  I do ride aggressive, mostly on twisties, but i still got a couple thousand more out of the E3's.

I just found my rear tire flat as I was about to leave for work. They are original E3's with 13k on them. I could not find any obvious damage, but trying to inspect the rear tire on a Vision is a pain, so I aired up the tire and I will let it sit overnight while I am at work and check it in the morning. I wasn't planning on buying a new set for a while, because I feel I had at least 3 or 4k left on the originals. Having said that I will go with the E3's again. I priced the pair from Cruiser Customizing at about $360.00. (On sale).
