Got a deer last week on the way to work at approx 50 mph. I credit the Vision to my lack of injury due to the plastic and aluminum absorbing most of the impact and the plastic fender breaking away allowing me to maintain control of the bike. New gas tanks and bodywork and I'll be back on the road. Amazingly the front fender rear section stayed on and still not cracked...lol.

Glad you are OK. My guess is the bike will be totaled. Insurance companies don't like "hidden" damages and tend to err on the side of caution.

The deer didn't survive it and the bike didn't get totaled. The only apparent structural damage is the fairing mount bracket and the front lower subframe. Estimate for repair is $6,500. Hoping to be back on the road before Thanksgiving if there aren't any delays in getting the parts.

Wow! The Vision really is a tank. I hope you have better luck that I did with a 2010 GW. It took 12 weeks and I had to find a used part from a Salvage yard for the dealer to get it back then.

First I'm glad you're okay after that, it really speaks volumes about the bikes and the angel on your shoulder.
Second I think you now win easiest access to air filter and headlight award.
Let us know how the repairs go.
