I am going to buy a used Vision, there are two I am torn between, and I figure this would be the perfect place to get a opinion on both.

First one.... 2011, 4,000 miles , Crimson color.

Second one, 2013 8,000 miles, Gold mist color

Both have lowers.

Both are in the same shape

The only difference between the two is the milage and the HID light on the 2011. ( Is the HID worth it over stock lights? )

I can afford both.

Which one you would you get and why.

Thanks Jeff

The 2013 is priced a little high. I bought a brand new 2014 (Nuclear Sunset) for less than the $18,495 they are asking for the 13. The lowers only cost around $200 and are worth every penny.

Both are priced a little high considering that I was able to buy a new 2013 in October 2013 for less than both bikes you listed. I would suggest you take a look at the Visions listed on www.cycletrader.com and find your best deal there. Good Luck!

OK, lest put this a different way, would you buy the 2011 for the HID light? I have checked Cycle trader.

I have spent the last couple weekends looking at different dealers, unfortunately a couple dealers didn't have the time of day for me, the other non victory dealer I went to I don't know if I would have bought a dog house from. so here are my choices.

Thank you for those who have answered , I wasn't asking about price, I was just wondering if the HID light was worth it

I go off to work at 4:30 AM daily. To me the HID light is worth getting if you are riding in the dark. just my opinion.

Please do look at the buy and sell section of this site. You can get a lot better deal by buying straight from a member of the site. There are a huber of visions out there for sale at better prices. Plus a member of this site might have better mods and tech experience with the vision then a dealer. I truly believe the vision to be the best overall ride available.

I ride a 2013 without the HID (wasn't an option). I installed Clearwater Darlas. if you are doing a lot of riding in the dark and want to greatly increase your daytime visibility, I highly recommend a good set of driving lights such as the Darlas. They are costly but they turn the night into day.

i have a 2011 i also had a 08, and for me.. i wouldn't get a Vision withOut HID .. there is a Reason why High End cars come with HID lights... I use my HID light in the rain, fog, any time i need extra visibility ... I know the HID light works, because in the past i used to get cars High Beams when i used my HID light... I cant believe what they put in place of the HID .... some wimpy ass little bulb... why? just so they didn't have to redesign the head light.. so what did they do ? through a 35watts of what ever it is bulb in that and call it complete.... lol

OR you could just replace the whole head light with this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMqlksFPoHU

Get the Crimson Red one. Hard to find color and best looking one. HID is a plus.

I also just bought a new 2014 (Nuclear Sunset Orange) - demo with 4K miles sold new with heated seat, level 1 exhaust, trunk liner, storage nets, aux input for stereo, and a JM Audio system installed - came with an extra 12 months warranty on top of first 12 and the clock doesn't start till April. All for less than either bike you have listed. It does not have HID but the salesman clued me into https://victoryhid.com/ - you have to get into the basket to see the price, but if all you want is (like the factory) HID in the cyclops, it costs $50, or $200 to replace all - intend to do the cyclops and have already ordered a set of Clearwater lights. A friend has had a set on his Vision for 5 years and swears that he has not had one instance of someone pulling/turning in front of him since he installed them.

I had a 2011 crimson red. That color is outstanding. I also like the original lighted victory badge. I would go with the 2011. It also has the least miles.

The lighted badges are a great touch, and the HID is a major bonus for the 11.

My vote is for the 2011. Negotiate the price down a little if you can.

There is a 2009 Aniversary model for sale on the VMC. Asking $13,999. Has everything on it. I am sure it could be had for less. http://forums.thevmc.com/classifieds/Classified.aspx?id=4146

I personally believe the 2011 model year was the best for the Vision, and also happen to think that the crimson red is the best looking color (helps that is the exact model and color I own).  Having said that, I believe the bikes are way over priced.  I purchased my 2011 new at the end of the model year and paid less than they are asking for the used 2011.  I'm sure you can find a better price if you extend your search area.  I drove 250 miles to get mine in 2011, but it was worth it.

I purchased my brand new 2013 VVT in November of 2013, drove 900 miles round trip to get it. It was listed at $15,999 and I had them apply the military discount on top of that, so I got it for $14,999! http://www.cycletrader.com is where I found it.

I think what the guys are saying is that you can find them much lower and possibly newer, if you are willing to go get it. Maybe that is not an option for you, and in that case then either of these are great bikes. Get the one that you like the best and then just ride that baby!

That 2009 Anniversary listed above is good buy! That is such a great color combo with the lettering and yellow pinstriping.

Thank you for all your advice.
I have been on cycle trader for the last few weeks ( and them some) I have checked out every used bike with a 400 mile radius. ( there are not that many) I rather not go new, but if I can get a good deal on one ( note: I do NOT like the Nuclear Sunset color, that and White are completely out. I am not a big fan of Black, too hot in the summer), So that leaves me not much choices. I am trading in my current ride, so I am not not looking to haul it 900 plus miles to dealer.

Again thank you for your responses , I am going to keep looking

Jeff
