New Bohemia, VA | Just changed my front tire today and 24,100 miles. Here's the old one, what do you all think. Just right, too late, or a few more miles would have worked. This is the original E3 for the front, the rear was changed around the 16k mark.

Brighton, TN | what was the tread dept? They still look good. You think I can get a few more miles out of those. Right now, I have double the miles that I got from my first set. I'm waiting to see.
Where did you get the replacement tires at and how much?
I got mine from the dealer around 170 rear and 130 front, then 55 for rear tire labor, and 35 front tire labor.

| You ran it a wee bit too long. The wear indicator on the left/center is ok but on the right its gone and then some, lol..... Mine gets a new rear on Thursday, more for cupping and flat spot than for wear. Probably a good 2k more it could go but the combination of cupping and flat spot is causing some handling issues, so it gets a change. |

I would have run it a little longer but the dealer was able to change it on Saturday so I jumped on while I could. I'm still planning the Texas trip and I wouldn't have pulled out of the drive without changing. I'll be pushing the rear as it was changed at 16k and when I get back from Texas as planned it will be pushing 14k. I think without the tour pack I'll get a few more miles out it though, but will see. I guess I need to lean more to the other side to keep it even. |

| There should be several small triangle marks around the sidewall just before the tread starts this is where the indicator is in the tread. If you don't have the triangle then it should be a mark "TWI" meaning Tread Wear Indicator. By the way that was not a stupid Question. |

When the tire wears down to this it is time to change out. As you can see mine are wearing on the outside more, and yes, I'm running 40psi in the front. It wears like it has been indicated with the Dunlops and mine on the Wing, bias, wore about the same way.

| varyder, yep that would be it, lol.... BUT if the tread disappears anywhere on the tire contact surface it should be replaced (excessive right wear on yours). Tires are kinda like oil so not much point in debating this issue in my experience. I have riding buddies that won't replace until cord shows through. I'm more proactive and tend to replace a wee bit on the early side. Most likely has to do with 2 rear blowouts and one front in my early riding years. Back tire blowouts are bad but front really suck, lol..... Ride safe...... T
ps... how many miles on that?? |

Regina Saskatchewan Canada | I'm thinking you get to ride a lot of twisties to have the sides wear out before the centre. When you live on the prairies and the roads are straight as an arrow you only see a tire wear out on the centre. Because I ride the Vision more aggressive then any other motorcycle in the past I am seeing more wear on the sides.

New Bohemia, VA | I do the twisties around here too, but most of my riding lately is been up and down the interstate. I love to take the back roads but time is of the essense unfortunetly lately. I also have a habit of leaning to one side or the other while riding putting more wear to one side. |

Cumming, GA | I currently have 20k on my front with lots of tread left. I changed the rear at 15k because I was on my AVR trip and getting ready to cross the desert in AZ and CA.
I didn't want to take the chance on the rear since it was getting close to the wear indicator.
I think that I will be changing the front soon because I will be riding in the N. GA mountains where there will be leaves and moisture in the road.
BTW.... I stayed with the Dunlap E3's. |

LaPorte,Tx. | I have 19000 miles on the front tire. Looks like I will change it in another 1000 or so miles. The wear is very even across the tire. Will be going back with the E-3. |

Has anyone put WWs on the Vision? I can't really visualize the look, so I'm not sure if it would look garish or good. |
