Well, I finally changed out the plugs and went with Champion Copper Plus RA8HC. The bike not only rides smoother with the new front tire, but the engine now runs as smooth of vanilla ice cream on a Carolina July day. I have had it decel pop a couple of times since changing, but that was in some around town running. I'm going to check out the retighting the exhaust as mentioned on another post here. The plug on the left is the front cylinder, and the one on the right, well, the rear.

Stock. However, when I first got it and it had that stalling issue, they did a map two or three times, but it suppose to have been the stock. The bike has always ran rich. I just got the recall flash down last week and it ran better, but I still had a lot of popping, more after the flash. On the highway it ran great, just that around town it would pop. Now with the new plugs it runs great, but the occasional little pop. I'm thinking the exhaust thing that was recently posted.

pollolittle - 2008-10-07 8:49 AM Man those look rich! Yeah, the guy riding though is poor. The right one or the rear cylinder was white when I pulled it, in handling it got smudged a little.

Actually those plugs look perfect color wise so I wouldn't change anything. I would be a little concerned and ask your tech about the burnt off electrode on the front cylinder plug.
I don't understand your popping issue unless as you mentioned you might have an exhaust leak. Keep us posted on the result after retorque of the headers (mine never pops).
I'm going to try to find a cross for a splitfire design plug come replacement time. Ran screaming eagle plugs (splitfires) in two of my previous baggers with very good results.
