Quick question.  I take it that the switch connected to the clutch lever is to prevent the bike from starting in gear... unless the clutch is engaged?

I am running the wiring in the bars on my vision.  I really see no need for that switch since none of my HD's ever had one.  If I delete it, do I soder the wires together or leave them open so that the bike thinks the clutch is always engaged?

Thanks,

Jim

The wire may be for the Cruise Control. When either brake or the clutch is pulled, the cruise control will disengage.

I wouldn't solder then just in case. Slide a piece of shrink tubing over each end. If you leave it open then the clutch would never disconnect the cruise.

Ah so it's for the cruise then? Might have to leave it then. On Japanese bikes, there is a switch on the clutch that keep the bike from starting in gear unless the clutch lever is engaged. I figured it was the same for the Vision. Never thought about the cruise.

Read your owners book you'll find a lot of information about your bike

On the same not, lately I will have a green neutral indicator and will not crank unless I pull the clutch in. Doesn't happen all the time. I if give the shifter a tap up it will crank normal. Are there separate sensors for the safety switch and the indicator? Adjustment? Wondering if anybody else had this problem. The incompetent boobs at St Pete Powersports changed the cover after my wreck last year. I'm sure it's something else they assembled wrong.

If I hold the starter and jiggle the shift lever up it will crank.
