Im getting a loud crackling/ratteling noise on the right side of my bile that seems to be coming from the exhaust forward of the RH muffler...possibly in the catalyitic converter area and its progressively getting worse. Has anyone else experienced this?

check all your bolts, flanges, for the chrome, mine have a tendency to loosen. Also body panels.

Thanks...did that already. I pulled all of the chrome from the RH side and started the bike...it's definately coming from within the pipes coming directly off the engine prior to the muffler.

I see you have a Lloydz timing gear installed. Did you make sure to Locktite the three bolts?

Your advice was BALLS ON! Thank you! I found the center bolt on my timing gear had backed off and from flopping around the bolt threads were damaged. I replaced the bolt (with lock tight) and added lock tight to the two outside bolts holding the timing adjustment.

Thanks for the great advice!!

i know this is not the same.... but one time my scooter was dropped in my garage... i had a rattle that appeared to be coming from the windshield area.... i put up with it for a while.. then one day i discovered it had nothing to do with the windshield area at all !! it was the big black plastic piece Under the battery.. the part that connects to the tip overs.... my point is, what caused the noise was no where near the area i thought was causing the noise !
