I just had the pleasure of changing my first burned out headlight and put the same thing back in but it made me wonder what the other styles of lights some of you have installed look like and how they're working out. I think someone in here maybe have HID only lights and I'd love to see pics of them. Everytime I see one of those new HD Roadglides with the dual LED headlights, I want to put a set of them in my bike.

At any rate, I wouldn't mind seeing pictures of alternative headlights posted in here if that'd be possible.

Now you're talking. I knew I'd seen something like this before. I'm surprised that Victory wouldn't have done something to "improve" the pattern on the Vision...there's a whole lot of shadows on the road especially when I'm running with the high-beam on. Anyway, thanks....I think I'm going to check into this a bit deeper.

I got a quote from the guy at SIC. Looks like good stuff, but comes with a price. Maybe someday!

Yep..I normally pick my bulbs up at Wal-Mart...$18 for the one that I got and am still kicking myself for not replacing both of them. However, the insurance is paying my shop to replace some plastic after a kid backed into my bike while it was sitting in a parking lot. Good time to do a light replacement.

Just for giggles I hit my local HD shop because I like the looks of the LED headlights you can get for the new Roadglides. The "stock" LED is something like $678 while the up-scale LED's in the catalog were $750. Under $600 doesn't sound too bad.

just wondering were the HD led lights just a bulb replacement or do you have part of a light housing as well.. ? ive been doing alot of reading on lighting (not claiming to know everything about it) but from what i have read.. some of the time the reason why people may be let down by a certain bulb where as someone else in a different application could love it is, the light housing itself. especially with HID bulbs....... now what i did recently was for my Own personal preference and taste.. im in no way saying what i did is better than anyone else's ideas.. i cross referenced bulb info and found out my HID cyclops light is 4300 K in color.. well i never liked how the head light had 2 difference colors.. in my opinion it looks like a after thoughts or a aftermarket bolt on.. so i wanted to find a standard bulb in the same color or close to it.. and i found it.. and it was cheap.. Philips Crystal Vision bulbs.. (we all know i bought the bulbs cause it had Vision in the brand name) lol now when my HID light along with my regular headlight the color is all the same and more uniform.. its a more clear, white light.. its a over all better experience at night.. and i didnt have to sell my plasma to get them... i am fully aware they are not LL bulbs.. (long life) but after replacing the stock bulbs.. i have no issues at all replacing them no matter how long they do or do not last.. for my very first time replacing the visions bulbs. it took me 45-60 mins.. now that i know what to do and what to expect i can do it in 30mins or less. all i do is remove the air filter and the housing behind it..

I installed these back in May. CRAZY BRIGHT! Also liked the idea of not having to do that replacement job for a very, very long time. They are working wonders! Plug and Play. I just left off the rubber covers behind the lights. These are water proof! Has a cooling van pre-installed.

Used Honda Goldwing bulbs when I replaced mine, Low beam on both went out on a rainey ruff ride thru Montana.
But I'd reccomend the DDM HID lites. Light the road up like daylight. Around $100 & life time warrenty.

If you leave the rubber boot off do you risk condensation and film build up inside the headlight housing

I applied a light coat of vasoline to the aluminum ring where the light sits against the headlight housing. Since the petroleum jelly is a good moisture barrier, it has done an excellent job keeping any moisture build up from getting into the light housing. I've had zero problem.

The HD lights I looked at were the complete housing unit not simply LED bulbs. I'm thinking there's an issue with the pattern when a person simply changes to LED bulbs but I'm not sure about it either.

I ended up getting a pair of the OPT7 LED headlights from Amazon that are posted elsewhere in this thread. All I can say is Wow...simply NO comparison to the stock headlights.

Were you able to get the rubber boot back on over the cooling fan attachment?

Glad you like them. I was instantly impressed myself. I found I needed to lower the beam direction slightly as the LED beam seems to project higher than the stock halogen bulbs, but the light output is incredible!

They will not easily go back on. I did not take time to mess with it. So far no problems, and I have been in steady rain for about 2 hours on my way to Sturgis this year. The LED's and fan housing are water proof. I sealed the headlamp housing and LED housing connection point with petroleum jelly to prevent moisture from seeping into the headlamp housing. So far.....it has worked perfectly.
