| I have my Vision currently on order and have been told that I'm probably looking at delivery sometime in late January, early Febuary. That gives me the time to sell at least one of my two current rides which are an '03 Honda Goldwing and a '03 Honda VTX 1800C/N. I would like to sell both so that I wouldn't have a payment on the Vision but my better half doesn't want me to get rid of the Wing because of the comfort level. The question I have would be for anyone that either went from a Wing to a Vision or has both, that being is the passenger seat room on the Vision the same or more than on the 1800 Goldwing?
If I can show her that she would be just as comfortable on the Vision as on the Goldwing I think I would have an easier time of convincing her to let me sell the Wing.

LaPorte,Tx. | A friend of mine has an 05 GW that took the test ride on the Vision at Houston. His wife was with him and both were impressed with the bike. She did not say it was more or less comfortable than the GW. The only way your really going to know is put her on the back of one. |

29 Palms California | get a side car, and that trailer, she'll be nice and cozy. I don't think the vision has arm rests, so you'll probably be keeping the goldwing. |

You are so funny, just how did yo know that my Goldwing has the Kury Akyn armrest? 
No, if her comfort level is the same as on the Goldwing, and by comfort level I don't mean by having armrests (Kury Akyn is working on one for the Vision right now), I mean seat room, foot position, and backrest angle (the only thing she doesn't like about the Goldwing).
And what's with the sidecar? I like to lean, and if I were to have to add a third wheel it would be by riding a trike, not a hack. If that is a jab at me looking at my passengers comfort, well, then, go drink some more coffee.................

Brighton, TN | Oh, no another one, that has been taken in by the Buckeye, no Worries. We are trying to make Buckeyes first Vision a Trike, that is why his hasn't arrived yet. Travelin'Man if you need to threaten him, don't threaten him with more coffee, he'll pull up a chair, drink some more and stays longer, chitting and chatting. Do you really want that? |

Tacoma, WA | As far as comfort goes, my Girlfriend said that the Vision seat is not quite as comfy as the 'wing's. and if your wife is short of stature (short legs) you will be needing to raise the rear floorboards because the backs of her legs will be on the saddlebags. Just some of my experiences so far!-----Metalguy

This is exactly the kind of useful information and input that I am seeking. Thankfully my lady is rather on the tall side at 5'10" with long legs so the floorboard height won't be an issue. I guess what I'm referring to was the distance from the front of the passenger seat to the passenger backrest on the Vision Tour model in comparison with the same dimension on the Goldwing.

Tacoma, WA | Oh...I believe my girlfriend was referring to the seat being wider, and liked the curve of the trunk/backrest on the 'wing better. She LOVES the seat on the Vision itself, it is just not as wide, I believe.----Metalguy |

29 Palms California | The only reason I bust your chops, is I have nothing! NO VISION! I'm a pre order with no order. I could give a flying do-da-day what my passenger wants. She will like what she gets, or some other hard body will be riding on the back. There have been many, many posts on the passenger foot rests. If your passenger is short in statute, you will probably have to adjust. Also, the saddle bags rest on the calves of a short pack. My wifes backside is huge, so I'm hoping it will fit. As far as knowing your GW has arm rests.....I'm not a psychic, but in your posts, it sounds like you have every trinket known to man stuck on the bike. How's the curb feelers working out for you? |

Brighton, TN | Curb Feeleers, haven't seen those in a few years, How about little roller wheels on the sides if you tip it over too far, kinda like on the back of an RV to keep you from scraping the rear bumper. See I'm thinking again, gonna make millions I tell ya.
Okay, maybe not millions, but my wife keeps telling me I bought the old man bike, not the flashy Harley or even the Kingpin. She said it wasn't a Chic magnet, Buckeye, I think I need a Tissue. But wait, I remember a young twenty something female species telling me nice bike, then I forgot who or what the waitfese said. Can't even spell now. Stuck on twenty something. I'm like the old record player, twenty, twenty, twenty, twenty, twenty, Buckeye or DesertJim I need a bump.

Well, I've verified that Loomis Cycles in Merrillville, Indiana has a Midnight Cherry Tour Premium in stock with no name attached to it. If I would have an immeadiate buyer for my VTX 1800 and my 1800 Goldwing I would be there laying out the money for it right away (It's about 3 hours from me). You could cancel your pre-order, fly there, buy it and ride it home, I'm planning on waiting until Febuary when my order is due in and I can get better money for my current rides.
BTW, no curb feelers, but I do have the trailer hitch flag pole set-up for when I do missions with my fellow PGR riders. |

29 Palms California | LOL, trailer hitch flag pole...LOL (tears). I do the PGR thing here. We like to escort the Marines from March AFB to 29 Palms when they return from Iraq. First couple of rides where awesome, and Yes I shed tears. WANNA MAKE SOMETHING OF IT? lol. Not many times we get "fun" rides in. My unit took the LCAC into Camp Pendleton from the USS PEARL HARBOR when we got home from Iraq, and yes, I shed tears. I sure am proud of our young Marines / service members over there fighting. Went to Iraq x2 and decided to retire after 20 years in 2006. It's the whole, dying in combat thing. The odds were getting bad for me. The Vietnam vets had alot to do with making sure we got a great welcome home....thanks gents! Sell those rice burners and buy AMERICAN! yup, I can do that...cause I faught for the right! |
