There are a lot of Harley guys who have crossed over to the Vision and Cross bikes.  Some  of my best friends ride H-D.  I  get it.  I have had these archived for awhile and since the last few posters have taken this tack, I'll jump in.  These apply only to the idiot die-hards with a narrow mind and no sense of humor.

(Needless to say, challenges from the H-D camp at work are non-existent.  My Lloydz-cammed Vision speaks for itself.)

Either the crank bolt is a left hand thread or he's torquing it backward That'd give ya some confidence!

Actually a beam style torque wrench like is being used in the picture is still one of the most accurate style torque wrenches unless someone tries to use it like a breaker bar to loosen a stuck nut or bolt and actually bends it.  A spring type torque wrench if improperly stored by not relieving the spring pressure will be inherently inaccurate, whereas a beam style torque wrench there is never a worry about that type of thing when it is stored.

I've said this before but when the '57 Chevy was released Ford outsold Chevrolet for the first time in 22 years. The huge cartoonish '59 Cadillac tail fins and the ugly rear split window on the '63 Corvette were considered styling disasters when released. Same thing with the Daytona/Superbirds. Who didn't laugh at the first AMC Scrambler they saw? I walk through a car show or auction now (some 40 years later) and the stuff that was ridiculed and laughed at then is going for big money today.
Even Harleys aren't immune, check out today's pricing on the "ugly" XLCR Sportsters that they couldn't give away 35 years ago. Unbelievable that today there are knock-off "tribute bikes" being built from newer Sportsters. Whatever...
I believe years from now a Vision will auction for at least the sum total of 5 similar Ultras. (The Vision will show 5 to 10 times the mileage on the odometer too.)

SongFan, enjoyed lunch with you today and keep your great motivational posters coming!! You're going to hit 200,000+ views. Thanks, Jim.

A dial type torque wrench is the most accurate, a beam type is prone to becoming uncalibrated through 'normal' bumps and clunking around.
Digitals are up to 15% innaccurate brand new, and some can't be adjusted by a metrology repair shop (the folks who adjust and calibrate torque wrenches and scales) Places like Boeing where accurate torques are mandatory usually won't allow final torques with anything except a breaker type wrench or dial wrench, and it better be inside calibration dates.
If you have any type of torque wrench, think about having it checked by a metrology outfit just to be sure.(look in the phone book or ask @ a professional tool seller)
