Birmingham, AL 08 MC Tour Premium 2012 Bronze Mist | It's been years since I tried to remove a grip and I think the last one I just cut off out of desperation. I'm installing the CB/Intercom unit even though I don't have a small wiring adapter (dealer says should be here "any day now"). I've gotten down to the point where I'm to remove the left heated grip and it doesn't budge.
I know the collective knowledge of this group can point me in the right direction.

Birmingham, AL 08 MC Tour Premium 2012 Bronze Mist | DUH.... Instructions for installation just says remove grip. Pull, yank, pry (a little) and nothing happens, then I get a flash light and start poking around. There are 2 set screws up by the clutch mount, that release it. |

29 Palms California | No bigger hammer? I would have went with the Bigger hammer, that always works. Duh, or a screwdriver might work. Thanks for tid bit. If I decide to install a CB, I'll now know what not to do. |

Glendale, AZ. | If you pull the top edge of the grip back it will have 2 screws that secure it to the bar. back those off and the grip will slide right off |

29 Palms California | very insightful....I think he figured it out. If I had my bike, I would have went with the bigger hammer, then I would have been throwing things in the garage, once I seen the screws... |

Birmingham, AL 08 MC Tour Premium 2012 Bronze Mist | Well, despite the fact I don't have the wiring harness to make it all work, I've gotten everything else installed, the CB unit, the antennae, the passenger controls and the headset jacks. The dealer says the wiring should be here "any day now" so I put it all back together and took the kids for a spin this afternoon. |

Central Florida | If you have mounted yor CB in the slot below the trunk, DO NOT RIDE in the rain or leave the bike outside. That area under the trunk gets wet. We had 5 Visions together riding in the rain and all got wet down there. When my trunk cover piece comes in, I will take the trunk apart and make a waterproof seal for the trunk. JUST FYI! |

Central Florida | They have NO clue! all the info my dealer has is outdated or NON existant.
I get most of my good information from VMC.com and one of the best sources for info is right there. One of the best wrenches in US KevinX is in Gainesville FL.
He knows it all and if he doesnt know he finds out.
By the time victory has a fix for leak I will have resolved it myself.
I found out when I had my papers stashed underneath overnite when parked outside and they all got pretty wet. |
