I was riding my 2008 Vision yesterday (and everyday). It has about 140,500 miles on it . I came to a stop at the end of the off ramp, gunned it , turning left. I suddenly felt a spray of dampness on my right forearm and the strong smell of gas. I looked down and my rear cylinder head was wet with gas on the surface of the top cooling fin. I was 7 miles from home so I eased on home. It did not continue to leak for the next 7 miles to the house. I haven't had time to look at it. I grounded that bike until my new rear E4 tire comes in and I will have my local tech look at it when he does the tire (and new to me salvage rear shock). I'm riding Ruby86 (2009 Vision) until further notice. Has anyone experienced anything like this or have any ideas?

It had 3/4 of a tank and it was a left hander not a right hand turn. Thank you for info.

I'm not saying this is your issue . But recently I discovered a cracked fuel rail on my 2011 vision. I have a no one on order

Well I had her grounded until my tech could trouble shoot but the wife and I rode it yesterday. We took it down the street with a full tank. I stopped , shut her down, opened the fuel door and it was wet in the compartment, not standing gas but wet. I am thinking it has developed a poor seal at the gas cap. Think of how many times it has been turned in 141,000 miles. It goes on with such ease compared to my 09 Vision. There seems to be scarring type wear on the filler neck surface where the fuel cap tabs go in and lock. I have always been super careful to hold the nozzle pressure off the neck when fueling but with associated fill ups related to that mileage, there will be unavoidable wear at the neck , cap mating surface in my opinion , I will let you know official cause once I have it addressed professionally.

Since you have two Vision's swap the caps and check it again!
