great accomplishment. Now you have to list all issues if any so that we can continue to know what to expect!!

well, I blew a head gasket at 91,000 because I let it run for over an hour sitting basically still in 4th of July Pigeon Forge traffic (operator error/ignorance) then I had a countershaft bearing failure at 134,000 miles which I believe could have been prematurely affected by running it hot and blowing that gasket (just my theory). I then decided to go with a more cost effective option of replacing my engine with a salvage engine. To replace a failed bearing , you must split the case $$$. The salvage engine is still purring. I also bought the rear shock off the same salvage bike, mine started squeaking like an old box spring.

That's literally it. Nothing more than oil and tires. Ocassionally light bulbs, brake pads and batteries . I'm still running original fuel pump, regulator, front fender, steering head bearing, front wheel bearings (replaced the rear wheel bearings just because and against my nature, I'm an "aint broke , dont fix it" guy) original fork fluid/seals , even brake fluid (I know that will upset people but it stops great) and the original belt and clutch! I had to put my old clutch in because the replacement engine was slipping. the tech refilled with amsoil on install. I'm not saying that is the problem , I'm just saying we had to use my clutch out of my original engine.

I think I'm on my 3rd set of plugs, gets 42.5 MPG. by the way, the salvage engine came out of an 09 from a place in Indiana. It must have been a Ness model , it has diamond cut fins! It is a nice touch. It had 57K on the engine when I installed it. Now has 66,000

you all know VaRyder on here? he has an 08 with zero engine issues ever and jsut turned over 200,000 miles! All original engine , no mods, no repairs.

My '10 8 Ball is so rare, everyone thinks it's brand new and that suits me just fine. Just turned over 15,000 miles, I put about 3,000-4500 miles a year on it because it rains a lot here in the Great Northwest, and though I ride it often, it's to run errands, etc. I'm not a guy with time to take off and run a half dozen hours just for the heck of it very often, but for general transportation, it can't be beat. At this rate, it's gonna outlast me! Just the way I like it!

Good for you. Bikes are made to be ridden and these guys (like my brother-in-law) who take 4 years to put 20,000 on a bike don't ride the thing the was it's meant to be ridden! I was hoping to hear someone say they'd put tons of miles on their Vision and that the 106 engine did a great job and was reliable.
