Hello, I new to VV and my first was a 2013 that I owned for approx 4 weeks before and drunk driver totaled it. I had only made one payment on it. I'm looking to replace my 2013 VV and have been considering years from 2012 - 2014 pending price and mileage. I have two things that puzzle me. 1) VV 3 to 4 yrs young but have less than 7K miles on them, and they are (what I consider) reasonably priced. An associate advised against the such purchase, saying there must be something wrong with those VV. And all the sales persons seem to have the same story . . . "came in and purchase a newer one" . . or . . traded it for Cam Am . . . a truck. . . etc. and its always the person who purchase it from their dealership who is treading it back to them for something else. Question why would a person trade in a VV with 5-7K mies on it if its only a few years young. I realize that no one knows why people do what they do. I traded a 2013 Suzuki M109R with 7K miles on it. . I have 1 car, 1 truck,m and 02 Vulcan Drifter, and live where rideing is seasonal (for me at least). . . Could it be that others are in simular life styles ? ?
2) I have seen some Visions with mileage between 29k to 60k, that I would consider. They too seem to be priced lower than bikes with 10K to 15K miles. As in my first question above, i looking for the "Pros and Cons" in each scenario. I want to be an educated consumer.
My first purchase was based on price, low mileage, and distance from my location .... I'm in New Jersey and purchase my Vision in Ohio, near Dayton . . . 2013yr . . 6K miles . . Ness Big Honkers . . As-Is . . No warranty

Thanks

Wait until the December time frame the last year models will be gotten cheaper than the new year models. I purchased mine at an end of year event in 2014 and got it for around 14K total, with only 4 miles on the odometer.

I just had the same thing happen to me. I found a 2012 with 6500 miles on it from a very reputable dealer 2 states over. My 09 only had 21000 on it but I own 2 bikes now but for 2 of those years I had 3 in my stable. Most of my riding is done back and forth to work 6 or 7 days a week and my vacations are done in our fifth wheel. In addition to the bikes I own a pickup and 2 autos. The dealer informed me that the person trading in the 2012 VV that I am getting is a long term owner that owns 4 different victory bikes. He placed this on consignment with the dealer hoping to sell it to grab a new magnum.

In my area there are 2 year old left overs and the dealers still wanted 18500 or more for their new models. SO for what State Farm gave me, I am moving up 3 model years and 1/3 the mileage for around $2000.00 and 770 of that will be state taxes. The only real change between the 09 and 12 is the ABS brakes. I am happy with this decision.

Another difference is 5000 mile oil change intervals for 2011 and up. 2,500 mile oil change intervals for 2010 and older. That's a big deal to me.

I wouldn't be concerned with low mileage Visions for sale. Some people just don't ride much, even some Vision owners don't ride much. The flip side of that is I wouldn't be afraid of a higher mileage Vision either. Anything with a freedom 106 is pretty much worry free.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with the bike you're looking at. I bought my 2010 Vision, from a private owner, with 13,000 on it in 2013 and wondered why the guy hadn't ridden it any more than he had. I have a tad over 53,000 on it now and haven't had any trouble with it at all. btw...I change my oil every 5,000 miles even though it's a 2010 because that's what I did with my '85 BMW and '97 Concours and had no trouble with either engine on those bike.

Took me 2.5 years to get 5k on my '13 vision. Decided to start riding to work and now I have 11,000 + miles on it. I wouldn't worry about the mileage either as nobody has mentioned any "class"problems including me other than I just don't get to ride enough.....

got 88K on my 13. No problems. Original clutch, wheel bearings, belt..... I did repack the bearings once, but they still feel good as new. Have a new belt, I'm going to get around to it sometime.... maybe. Probably replace the bearings at 100K.

147,000 miles on my 2008 original clutch, belt. I did replace rear wheel bearings just as a preventive since I was mounting a rear tire. Original front wheel bearings, and steering head bearing. Original fork oil, brake fluid. Still rides and stops great. My friend Chris Nelms has over 200,000 on his 2008 with the original clutch.

About 6 mos ago I bought a 2012 with 5,600 miles. I would not be scared of few miles on2011 to 2014. I gave 10,200 for it

I'd go for the lower mileage one why ? Cause my 2011 vision with less than 30000 miles needs the front cylinders rebuilt.. low compression . Front 141. Rear 215 compression test done many times . This time when it's fixed I will let it warm up more before I take off ..

I always let mine warm up. You wouldn't believe the guys that ride to work and when we all leave, I'm on mine , engine running and warming. These guys come out , throw a leg over , fire it up and immediately begin racking on the throttle and take off , going through the gears hard. I just shake my head.
