Or height.

I'm curious to the length of the stock rocker...I measured mine today before I loaded it into a trailer for the ride to the tire dealer and got roughly 12 3/4 inches on center to the mounting bolts. I'm wondering if the dealer in Denton didn't put on a rocker for the 8-ball.... I took a couple pics if that'll help visual what the top end looks like.

I finally found the sales receipt for the shock...it's for the Ness/8-Ball and isn't the correct, asked for, stock shock number. It's passed the 30 day limit for any recourse with the Denton bike shop who installed it and, frankly, I have to take responsibility for taking this long to figure out just what was wrong/different with it. I called them and talked to the salesman who ordered it for me if only to make sure he'd be aware that, perhaps, a slower, deliberate look while ordering parts was called for in the future. Between the activity in the store and me yacking away, I can see how he could drop one spot too low in the catalog and order a part number ending in 903 instead of 904.

I have a new shock ordered through cheapcycles...saved me $100 even with shipping and I even called and talked to someone there to double check to make sure I wasn't messing this order up as well. Now to find out if my son's willing to help me put it on.

If I can do this, here are the 2 different part numbers for the shock. Even though they're both listed as #6, the number ending in 903 is the stock shock..904 is the Ness or 8-ball shock which, I believe, is an inch shorter. I ordered mine through cheapcycles.com for $533 plus shipping. Same part number.
