My belief:  The glove box power port is mainly to power up mp3 players or cell phones.  You will need to get an adapter for most devices, to convert their plugs to plug in the BMW style port.  The glove box port only works when the switch is on.

The one in the trunk is always hot.  It would work well for hooking up anything you want after you are off the bike (tailgate party!).  It, too, is a BMW style.

Why do bikes have BMW style?  I wondered too, so I looked it up.  Cigar lighter-style ports have no true standard for exact size or quality.  They were designed for cigar lighters and are not the best things for holding plugs in.  BMW-style are designed for electrical connections and hold much better, as well as providing a better electrical connection.  At least that is what the site said where I read about it...

Since I learned about these, I have found that some newer plugs are convertible for both cigar lighter ports and BMW ports.

Ive seen it many times. If you plug an adapter into a lighter socket enough times, eventually you will accidently short it a blow a fuse.

Go to this page: http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/product.asp?Item=PLUG
Go to the fourth item on the page which is: "PowerLet power socket adapter for cigarette-style plug devices. 6" cord." This sells for $19.95 and it will plug into the BMW connector and provide you a 6" cord with a female cigarette-style plug to plug your phone's 12 volt cigarette cord into.

If the power outlet that comes on the Vision is of the BMW type then you could simply buy the short, no lead, powerlet to cigar outlet adapter, then use the same phone charger you would use in your car to charge your phone. It is third from the bottom on the linked page.

This is the dumb question of the day, maybe someone can clear up. A friend told me today that the XM reciever the Victory has as an accessory can be programed to receive Sirius. Anyone know for sure? I have Sirius on my truck and would prefer to have it on the bike, second one is cheaper.
