Just thought I would post some pics of my hitch and trailer project. Still have to do the wiring but have the hitch installed and got trailer from painter today.

This was an on the cheap project because I don't think we will use the trailer a lot but wanted the flexibility for longer trips.

Jamie 'Superfreak' got me a HitchDoc hitch at a good price and gave me some great tips on installing. I don't have a lift so I removed the seat and installed the hitch through the access hole in the frame. This is done by folding the black plastic panel which guides the airline from the valvestem to the airbag down toward the tire. This gives you good access to the area under the trunk where the HitchDoc hitch bolts up. I installed the bolts up from the bottom with the nuts in the access area under the trunk.

John 'Flatsix' gave me some additional hitch installtion tips and some great help with wiring. I have to get a couple of items to complete my wiring and am waiting on some additional led lights. So the wiring won't be done for a few days.

I got the trailer from Jason at America's Best Trailers at http://www.americasbesttrailers.com. I also found him from a post by Flatsix. While this is not the most streamlined or sophisticated trailer, it also came at a good price. Jason sells a couple of trailes on ebay almost everyday so I watched for a while and caught it one day for $920. Trailer is well built, lightweight and sturdy. Not a Bushtec or anything fancy but seems like a good balance between cost and features.

So just a couple of points here, first you don't have to spend a fortune for everything if you are willing to watch and wait for the right price.

Secondly, it is important to recognize all the great info you can find if you look around on Vision-Riders. I have a Kingpin too and read on thevmc alot too, but seems like there is definitely more Vision specific info that benefits me on Vision-Riders.

Anyway thanks to everyone for their posts and help. I really appreciate the people who put their email addresses in their profile. Sometimes I have stupid questions that everyone may not want to read so I appreciate the chance to send something private and then if something worthwile comes, it can be shared with the group.

My wife and I are really enjoying the Vision to ride together. Like lots of you have written, I just couldn't wrap my head around the Vision looks at first. I rode on a pre-production Visions at Spirit Lake and still didn't want one, but after riding a real production model a time or two, I was hooked.

Hope to meet up with some of you this summer on the V2V in June. My son is moving to Dallas this weekend so maybe I will see some of the Texas Vision-Riders down there too. Thanks and keep riding!
