I previously posted re:BMW 1150RT converting to Vision. I really appreciated all the responses. Obviously still going through the process. I did pay attention to the comments concerning the Ness Vision. I am still struck by the "enhancements" of the Ness: blacked out pieces, paint, etc... "double sided taped Arlen Ness signature plate" notwithstanding.

I am really looking for the completely different experience the Vision seems to offer and what the Ness offers at least visually.

Question: I have read about the incredible comfort of the stock seat and would like to hear from any Ness owners or others that can offer comparison of the Ness seat versus stock????

Thanks,
John

I have ridden both, and originally went to purchase the Ness Vision, after riding both i can honestly tell you that the only benefit to the Ness seat is that its leather wrapped and has "ness" stitching. Other then that its a hard non cushiony wear your ass out on a long ride mess. My dealer actually bought the Ness bike for himself, and will tell you how uncomfortalbe the seat is. On our long runs, he trades it for a stock seat off the showroom. Does that tell you anything? With regard to the rest of the Ness Vision, for the extra cost, when you look at what DOESNT come on the bike vs what you get on the Street Premium for less money, I can see why the Ness Vision did not sell well. NOW, that being said, if you are one of those "Ness" fanatics who buy anything "Ness" related, then this is the bike for you, but honestly the 5000.00 or so more, with no heated seats, no heated grips, no power windshield, etc etc,
all you are really getting is a paint job that looks like a while jumping out of the ocean, and diamond cut heads on the engine. If this satisfies you then you will absolutely love this bike. If you plan on riding in during the winter, the paint nor the diamond cut heads will not keep you warm, nor make you fuzzzy..

Go with the premium and use the extra cash to customize it yourself. Then you'll have a true one of a kind.
