Veterans and active duty military eat free at any Applebee's resturant. Any one here in the CVA want to ride for a free lunch? We have a couple in the area but I would like to get out and away from the military bases and take a nice ride and have my free lunch.

PS - I'll be making the trip to Winchester to have lunch with my Korean War Vet dad.

I will be taking 522 from cuckoo all the way to Winchester, rain or shine, i'll leave @ 7:00am from prince geo. va to be there @ 1100am

SB, if you can stand the rain, come on down. As promised, I'll be riding rain or shine and it looks at the moment to be heavy rain heading this way...but what does the radar know?...

so, all you east coasters are looking at the weather channel and saying "oooo I'm not riding tomorrow..." I don't know how many veterans have off, but I hope all of you do. Take time to do something to honor a Vet, a phone call, a visit, pay for they few things they buy at Wal-mart when you're in line behind or even in front of them. But just say thank-you.

Me, I'm hoping to have lunch iwth my dad in Winchester, and I know I'll be wet. I spent 20 years in the Army on their terms to be wet and miserable, now it is on my terms. It ain't nothing considering what our men and women go through and have gone through. My dad is a PH recepient and can tell of a discomforts that I can even begin to imagine.

I salute all you who are VETERANS that keeps us safe, the land of the free and the brave for those who keep the home fires burning....

this pic was taken on my dad's 81st birthday this year a the KWM in D.C.

Thank you for saying Thank You! You're Welcome. I was cruizing along and noticed a personalized Marine Corps plate, and I had to set the cruise control and rendered a proper salute to a brother in arms. I was a U. S. Army Paratrooper, but we all serve for the same purpose.

Lunch was great with my dad at Applebee's and our waitress was superb.

I also stopped at the National Cemetary in Culpeper to pay respects to my uncle, my dad's brother, who served in WWII.

Just a great day.
