Miles and JAM,

I hope you guys are ready for what is about to happen. This website is about to go into hyperdrive. When the northeast thaws out and the entire North American continent starts seeing Visions on the road and available for test drives, life as you guys know it will not be the same. Vision-Riders will be ground zero for the masses.

I know you have experience with theVMC but this will be totally different. Victory had some early growing pains but has turned into a world-class bike maker. All of their models have been cruisers of various styles and were great for those who wanted an American alternative to H-D. They were nice bikes but they blended in with the rest of the cruiser market. Their numbers were relatively small and non-bikers probably just wondered what kind of "Harley" that was. None of those models really put Victory on the map as offering anything radically different. Just a nice change. To be honest, most people have never even heard of Victory Motorcycles.

When the Victory corporate media hype says that the Vision is "iconic", for the first time in my life I believe it. I can see it in peoples reaction to the bike every day. The Vision blows away all of the boundaries. People who would never own a motorcycle have walked up to me and said "That is the most beautiful machine I have ever seen. What is it?" I'm not talking middle aged guys here, I mean a 70 year old black woman who probably grew up on a farm in Mississippi. I mean the Hispanic laborers laying down mulch at the house next door. The 22 year old bank teller at the drive-through window. The 80-year old WWII vet standing next to his Crown Vic at the gas pump. The mom in the mini-van at a stop light. These are just the people who took the time to strike up a conversation. I can feel everyone else staring at the bike and trust me, it's not because they think it's butt ugly. It is literally a head turner.

Ok, so non-motorcyclists like it. Big deal. They don't know what to look for in a motorcycle. They are going purely on looks. Think about this: For the first time in my lifetime, members of three fanatically loyal groups will cross-over. Die-hard, "the only real bike" Harley guys, "everything plus the kitchen sink" GoldWingers and the group who personifies "anal" - BMW riders. I realize that a lot (if not most) of the Vision buyers will come from previous Victory owners and Japanese brands (based on pure numbers) but it is amazing to see who is really looking hard at the Vision. A Harley guy, a Winger and a Beemer-head all in the same showroom, looking at the same bike!? That is truly unbelievable. Japanese brand riders (myself included) will come over in droves for various reasons but face it, as a group we are not as fanatical as the "big three".

The Vision-Riders forum is quickly establishing it's place as the go-to site for real life experience with the bike. The good, the bad and the ugly will come out here. Lots of people lurk here that we never hear from. Now that the bike is starting to cut it's teeth and get some miles built up, it is becoming apparent that the Vision is not just a nice first attempt by Victory. It is an unbelievably fantastic bike.

A new owner's initial reaction is to compare the Vision to what you rode before but you quickly realize that you can only compare it to itself. The guys that rode Harleys and now have Visions don't even bring up the differences after a few posts because it's so unfair. The Wingers and Beemer guys are a very knowledgable group of riders but you get the feeling that they picked their bikes for the functionality and technology. Nice bikes but they have had their "souls" engineered out of them. The Vision has the sensory input to match the looks.

Victory dealers at the bike shows are freaking out over the crowds around the Vision. Spring is coming. You have about two months left before the lid blows off.

Are there racial barriers with the other brands?
It never occurred to me...

What SongFan said! I already made a mention on the post "Any Palm Beach County Riders?

If the Winger loyalyst are any indication of the way a forum should go, this site may soon find itself breaking out into an association or club and being a chapter oriented forum, we'll see.

I believe the lid is being blown off now as we write this and two months from now it will be out of control. I make the suggestion to the fine loyalyst of the Vision here on this forum and the overseers to make some plans to start an association, club or whatever. Any takers and shakers?

The VMC is a fine site, so this is no knock on that site. This site has already become my mainstay as far as information goes, and the best reading about the Vision. And it is a the best lurker site in comparison to the VMC as it is specific to what they are looking for without wading around in the Main Forum, Tech Forum of the VMC.

A suggestion from an owner of the motorcycle that has revolutionized the way we ride.

I would like to ramble just a little more in that I have had the experience as SongFan and the rest of non-riders standing to admire the bike. People stop what they are doing and admire this ride. I've been sitting at a traffic light and had one fellow stop coming from the other direction and block traffic just to ask and comment on the bike. Children even get mesmerized, though they will about most motorcycles, when they see the Vision it seems to be different.

Comments from other riders have confirmed that I did not make it up when I've said that the ride on the Vision is phenominal. From rider input to feel of the highway, this bike is as perfect as it can get in comparison to any other bike on the road based on what I read. My only comparison of late is a GL1200 and a GL1500, so my comparison is limited. But when I read that Harlery UC and GL1800 riders say this is "the ride" then we have something here. When my wife falls asleep on a short ride, I know I did right in making a purchase I would never normally make.

Excuse my rambling, but I hope that we'll see Vision-Riders move to a new level soon in way of a forum and sharing information about a true American Revolution in motorcycling.

One last comment, though the ride is phenominal, I know I'm on two wheel's and at the mercy of the idiot cagers and other uncontrolable hazards, so ride safe and see if we can keep all the Vision riders.

Here's a thought:

Is Polaris a Publicly Traded Company? If so, can the Moderator add a thread that shows the companies stock price and company announcements? As investors in it's products (Victory's), maybe we might want to become investors in the company. Look at Apple and how one single product, the iPod, turned the company around. The same could happen for Polaris with the Victory.

Just checked...yes it is! Hey Moderator, what's your thought about adding an Investor Info thread to this site? It would be a good place to post the company financial reports and announcements. A lot of people made $$$ on Harley, if the Vision is truly Victory's iPod, it could be a good time to invest in Polaris. However, in this market, any investment in any company is risky...but if the Vision takes off in the Spring, then the old addage "a rising tide raises all ships" may apply. Any thoughts?

Polaris' assets are huge and while Victory will impact the stock price, it would take
an exponential increase in demand for one model to affect the overall market price
of their stock. Could be good times ahead, but I wouldn't look for a windfall.

You mean you haven't bought any stock yet? Some of us early riders(read 99 V92C's) have been stockholders for years....better hurry

Thats how I made my$1k deposit. Bought two weeks before earning report, sold two days after report for $1000 profit. Stock's in consolidation right now, could go either way at this point. I still think polaris could do a better job of promoting the victory line. Only ads I see are for their atvs.

I honestly don't think they need to spend any money on advertising the Vision. Once the spring hits, and people are out in force, the Vision will sell itself. Maybe in 5 years, after Victory has "rubbed-out" the competition, they could advertise..."We had a Vision, the American biker deserved more, and he/she got it" Thanks for riding a Victory. I think that would work. Then, Polaris would give us 1st year owners of the Vision a $3,000 gift certificate to spend at a Victory shop. Oh, and dancing girls and free beer? maybe thats to much, but its my dream, quit trying to bring me down!

I'm not sure if lid has blown off yet but we are already starting to see a lot more activity here on Vision-Riders than we did a couple of months ago. One particular change I have noticed in the last month or so is that there are definitely a lot more posts here on Vision-Riders then there are on the VISION section of the VMC. It seems like people are migrating to this site as their primary source of info for the VISION.

I have been registered on Vision-Riders since last July and even though I don't post often, I do visit the site at least a few times a week and recently it seems, almost daily. I am amazed at how much information I have learned from this site and I look forward to learning a lot more as time goes by.

Miles and JAM....you have done a great job of making the site even better over time and I can only see it continuing to get better from here. Thanks for all the time and effort you have put into the site.

I actually saw a Victory Vision ad on television over the weekend. Discovery Channel. I was watching a season re-cap of The Deadliest catch.

Dayum, what a sweet bike!
