Thinking of upgrading my Gen3 iPod to a Gen3 iPod Touch. I picked up the new cable at a dealer this weekend and was wondering how you iPod Touch riders mounted it. I am thinking of getting a horizontal belt holder and mounting it to the side of the glove box. I would love to hear how you did it. I went thru 3 of the original cables and found out that you HAVE to secure them to make the cable last.

Thanks

I havent done it yet, but some say to shape a sponge to the inside of the glove box and cut a slit in it.

John,

Does your cable have the box in the middle?

Paul, The new one I just bought does. It is black with a brick about 2 inches into the cable. My original one is white.

Rick, That is an idea that I never thought of. Nice!

ScoreBo,
My touch is in a case, and I just plug it in, and set it to shuffle. I then lay it in the glove box and motor on!! I must be lucky, I never had to buy any cable for either of my Ipods.

RedDog, are you running the standard headphone looking cable or the ipod rectangular cable?

Headphone looking (round) cable. It was already on the bike when I purchased it. Cable comes in through the side of glove box wall. I have used it on my nano, and now my touch.

With the ipod specific cable, you can switch playlists and change songs from your controls. Just an FYI...

John,

What is the part number for that cable? (the black one with the box) On the Vision end of the cable, does it have one connector or two?

I am trying to figure out Exactly what cable works for all iPods for the 2008 Visions.

Paul

It's at home, but the Vision side is a single connector and says it works with 08s. This looks like the one I got, but like I said, it has only one hook up, not two: http://www.purepolaris.com/Detail.aspx?ItemID=2877195(PolarisPGACat...

Wish you had posted this last week before I order the wrong cable. After receiving part #2877195 and opening the package I found it only fit 2010.
After going back to Victory web site and looking again unber vehicle fit it list all models but when you look under features it list 2010 models. Now I have a cable that does me no good calling the dealer in the morning to see if I can return it.

I stumbled onto this cable as it was hanging in a dealer showroom rack this past weekend.

The new cable suggests having the radio flashed to the newest version. I did this with my iPod touch and it is awesome compared to the older white cable. This one charges my 3Gen iPod Touch...

Since my Vision lives in another City, in another Province, I will respond after I get the info at the end of the month. Where I live we are still snowmobiling, so I leave my bike where I can fly down and ride more of the year..
