East Ohio | Does anyone have the template that they can scan in and post or email to me, it would be appreciated as I was able to get a set of the hinges and I ordered the replacement deflectors from CycleOps. thanks

East Ohio | It was just one of those days. I went to a Victory Demo Ride set up in WV,it was 42 degrees I started talking to the guy who was in charge of the demo bikes, he told me how good the lowers worked in those temps, but that some people break them trying to turn them with their feet. I mentioned the ones from cycleops, but that they don't come with hinges. He said that he had ordered extra sets for the broken ones and gave me the hinges. was a GOOD day, got a shirt too. but anyway try your dealers they may have hinges, but I doubt they give them away. Good luck

Anderson, IN (48mi NE of downtown Indianapolis) | If people are breaking them with their feet then that says a lot for the tape that holds the hinges to the fairing.
I think I still have my templates. PM me to remind me to look. If I find them I can ship them to you. Just ship em back when you're done. |

Says more about the people............... Not really, but maybe about the guy who designed them. The OEM design is flawed. You cannot put an 8MM hole for a hinge attaching point 1/32 of an inch from the edge of plexiglass. It's gonna break, period. And for guys looking for hinges to use our lowers, google Surdyke Victory Polaris. THey always offer 20% off on OEM parts plus most of the time there's also a free shipping promo. As the hinges are the only thing in the package besides the template that's worth anything (plexi is cheap), they'll cost you $200 delivered to your door. THat's why I don't do the hinges. By the time you pay for all the molds, fabrication, and welding, I'd have to sell them in that range anyway. |

Allen Park, MI | Picked mine up for $156 on ebay...waiting on 3m tape to arrive with adhesive promoter as well...there're spotless and like new. If they ever break I would have to entertain the idea of Will's product...just the nice thing about the clear plex is that they are hardly noticable...personal preference I guess. |

N. Miami, Florida | Kuryakyn makes a lot of parts for Victory, and especially the add-ons for Visions. This is where a lot of Vic chrome get's a bad rap, because it's actually the cheap Kuryakyn chinese metal and chrome. As an example, I offer chroming services and do the deflector mounts for customers. There's a reason they don't come chromed and are only available in black powder coat. The powder coat is thick and hides all the imperfections in the horrible castings. You wouldn't believe what we've got to go through to get a decent chrome finish on them after stripping off the powder coat. They are so rough and porous that even after sanding the crap out of them we've got to go back and forth from copper plating to polishing over and over to get all the pits filled in before going to the nickel and chromium plating, and even then sometimes there are a few that are just too bad to get rid of. |

We do have something we conjured up when first trying to match the Midnight Cherry. It was too red for the Cherry match, but the first thing it made me think of was Antares Red metallic. Here's a couple of pics of the sample piece we shot. If you find this acceptable the answer would be yes.

Custom colored powder coats like this would be $189 and matching uppers would be $120 list, or $309 list, but with your member 10% discount they'd be only $278.10, with shipping about $11. Leadtime to ship would be a week or less. |

To match it best we're doing a 2 coat process, a Pearl metallic base with a special metalflake clear overcoat to add the heavier flake. |

Fargo, ND | For those of you that are trying to find a set of templates for mounting your lower wind deflectors I have some advice. If you are mounting the stock windeflectors and you have large feet then the templates are useless. Those of us on the larger side with big feet tend to ride with our feet over the chrome tip overs anyway. If you use the template you will not be able to fit your toes under them and they will be prone to breaking because your boot will constantly be against them. I mounted mine by placing my boot on the footboards in my normal riding position. I then brought the botom of the deflector just above the tip of my boot. The lower mount was aligned with the back end point just forward of the trailing edge of the faring and the top mount was aligned with the front tip of the mount just under the existing triangle blade tip closest to the faring. I have clearence for my boots and plenty of air flow.
Just a thought!
Hope it help some you with feet larger than a size 10.
