I've always used victory oil in my 08 tour premium, but what would be a good substitute?

Gary, what donetracy was trying to say until his computer crashed was "GRRRRRREAT! because he loves to answer oil questions. He usually recommends the virgin oil blend for the '08s which seems to be the best. What is good is that Victory is coming out with the kit where you can mix your own oil known as the Victory Oil Change Kit. If you want 10w40 then you use one part 10 and one part 40 for each quart, or if you want 20w50 you mix the 10 and 40 together, boil to get the 50, then you add 2 parts of 10 to get the 20. I'm sure there are others who will make there own recommendations.

When Kevinx did my cams, he saw a bottle of my son's Amsoil on the shelf in my garage. I thought he was going to go home before he did mine. All kiddding aside, search out all the oil threads, and you will know all you ever wanted to know about oil, and some things you don't want to know. There is even some humor there, and anger. Use the Victory oil change kit, and you will have no problems with clutch, engine, or warrenty.
And thats all I've got to say about that!

I don't know why some people hate the oil subject so much...........I enjoy listening to other peoples views, opinions, and experience. Oil is one thing we all have in common and it is very important to the operation and longevity of our machines. For some (like me) it can also be expensive. I have 2 bikes that run about 10,000 miles year each which equates to 8 changes if I run Victory oil and change it every 2500 miles. That's $500 year!! A good oil thread here is what got me looking at other options so I find value in them. I say if you don't want to talk about oil, don't. But don't be so quick to chastise those that do. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

By the way Gary.........I use Amsoil 20-50 and love it. Smoother shifting, quieter motor, extended oil changes, no clutch slippage as some suggest, and delivered to my door. Everyone that I know that has tried it has stayed with it. Just my experience, others may feel differently.
Sorry guys, I just can't help myself

With the exception of oil change interval. The above statement is opinion only with no basis in fact. There are many that have switched from Amsoil for several reasons; chief among them being clutch slipage. Several have posted right here on this site.

BTW just so everyone understands this. My pick up has Amsoil in it, and I have no issue with Amsoil's blended oil in Vics. Only thing I do not like if Full Synth oils[any brand] in Victory motorcycles

WOW - who knew!

Wait ! Wait ! Now I remember - I used to do that back in the '80's. Damn, it's a bitch getting old - memory plays tricks....
I'll have to discuss this with my dealer to make sure I'm not doing the right thing. Or wrong thing. Whatever

I did have clutch slippage when I was using Amsoil. Now I am running Victory oil, making the shifting notchy, but I am surly know when it goes in gear. Plus I can get the Vision to pull in 2nd without hearing the clutch chatter.

Hey, is that 10w-40 or 20w-50 butter on your popcorn? Personally I like the 10w-40 butter on mine, cause the 20w-50 makes the kernels too slick to get out of my teeth.
