I have a question on exhaust on the Vision. I?ve been looking at upgrading from stock to either stage 1 L2, Ness pipes, or one of the others that offer better sound and performance. It occurred to me that I have the stage 1 slip-ons from my 04 Kingpin sitting around in the garage. They look like they might fit under the heat shields. My question is, would this work? I know I would still need the air filter and the remap, but it would save me the cost of the muffler. Any thoughts?

Best answer to all DUMB questions...... WHY ?

Or - "Why take a beautiful, nice, expensive motorcycle and make it look worse?"
Or - "Why take something from a small engine and fit it to a bigger engine and expect it to work better?"

Just pushin' yer buttons, Scott.... <grin>

My thinking was that the mufflers aren't actually visible under the heat shields, so the look would remain the same, and I don't know enough about exhaust to know if there's a real differnce between the old S1s made for the smaller engine, and the new S1s for the bigger. The biggest why is money, and my wife's aversion to me spending it

Muffler brackets probably won't match and remember the Vision wheel base is something like 68 inches. If you really want pipes for the Vision, I had the stock pipes and then had the L-2 set up. Last week I changed to the Vision D&D pipes. The D&Ds are great, sound and power. I do have to get over to Kevin X and trim the engine on the Dyno.

Swrench, make your own. Cut the ends off your stock pipes then cut the baffles out. Reweld them up and your good to go. They are louder but not too loud.
