I have 12000 miles (only) on my 2008 - And still more I would trust the tires to do ... why would a 2010 need new tires?
The nearest American dealer in WA has quoted me $560 for 'original equipment' front/rear installed. I will be doing this soon. Most of my riding is 2-up - 330 lbs + and 12000 is the best I have ever done on a rear tire on any of my bikes and I have NO complaints with the stock tires.
Do a search for 'darkside' and you will see more stuff about tires than anyone would ever want to know in 10 lifetimes.

I just changed out my Dunlaps for Bridgestones at 12,800. The rear was at the wear intidcators... I am really happy with the Bridgestones.

That may sound like you were riding in circles.

Just pulling your leg.

I just put front & Rear for $455 installed. The motor tech said that the Vision has a break system that applies both breaks when you use the hand break. I dont know that the ratio is but the front does aplply more than the rear. What that means that both tires have to be replaced because they pretty much wear out the same. I replaced them with 13,600 miles.
I live in Arizona and to find reasonably priced tires is tough.

I'm on my 2nd pair of Dunlops, They have been excellent in rain, they also have a stiffer sidewall which might save your bacon if the tire goes flat. Ask KenandPen about that one.

I went dark side after my original tire lasted 16722 Kms, it probably had another thousand or two in it.So far I love it. I am just saying it may be an option for you to research. I used a Bridgstone Potenza 195-55R-16 the speedo reads the same and the odometer is right on.

I would highly recommend reading this thread: http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=5534 If you are slightly anal like me, the load carrying capabilities of the tires should be important. If so, you ONLY have the Dunlops to choose from.

Starting to look around for my second new set of tires at 23,000. I've got probably another 3,000 to 5,000 on this set.

Man, I wish Dunlop made a white pinstripe in the Visions size. I think it would look pretty good on the Midnight Cherry.

At 7,100 the rear tire was showing marked wear on the left side, but not on the right.
What's up with that?

weight balance maybe? or the road, or shock pressure or a combination.

+1

Just replaced my rear 08 E3 at 9,500...wear bar not yet showing but I'm not an idiot...looks like 15,000 for the front.

I was bummed that I only got 10,000-ish on the rear...my BMW LT had Metzler and did much better, same weight. Then heard that the OEM E3's on the 08 had a compound improvement so I should do better with the latest tire....we'll see. $220 dealer purchased and installed...love my dealer!

I will change out my tires in a couple of days. I have 15.5 K on both and the rear could go another 3-5 K and the front at least another 8-10K. Getting ready for AVR a Little early. I have a bridgestone to go on front and hopefully that will get rid of the Dunlop tire 'HOWL." A new E3 is going on the rear.
I always run Ride-On TPS in my tires as insurance against a inconvient flat tire -- like there is there a convenient one. In reading Ride-ons claims they state up to 25% longer tire life due to balance enhancement and eliminating air pressure loss over time. I will say this I never have drops in pressure as long as I am riding the bike.

The motor tech said that the Vision has a break system that applies both breaks when you use the hand break.

I would find a new tech....... While it is true the Vision has proportional brakes, it is the foot brake that activates that feature, the Linked brakes enhance braking performance. The front brake lever pinches two of three pistons in each caliper. The rear pedal adds the center piston of the front calipers to the stopping power of the rear.

OK?

After 13000 miles my rear tire needed to be replaced. Rockymountain Cycle Plaza in Pueblo Co. charged me $210 for tire AND labor for new E3.

Regarding the wear on the left side only. If you ride on lots of straight roads the tire will wear more on the left than the right due to the crown built into the road which allows the rain to run off easier.
