Who's going to the AVR? Maybe somebody could put together a little MEET and GREET so we could introduce ourselves. Any ideas?

I'm heading over on Thursday evening Aug. 19th.
I didn't get my room too early so we are staying in Milford, IA about 3 miles south of Arnold's Park
I will keep an eye on this thread, I think a meet and greet would be a great idea.

Heading up Friday. I'm in for a meet and greet. Good idea Mike. By the way on the VMC I go by Highwayman. Too much trouble to change it on here. See you at the AVR.

I'll be there. A whopping 5 mile trip for me as I live in Spirit Lake IA. Meet and Greet at Rally is a great idea. You guys bring the beer, I'll bring my boat over and we can party Boji Style!

A small group of us plan to leave Two Rivers, WI Friday morning and return Sunday. If there is anyone else in the area that wants to ride together, just let me know.

We are staying at the Americinn in Okebogie (or however it is spelled).

I think I'm going to be sick. I'll fly in and out of KC, Mo on the Aug 18, and I'll be just 600 miles from AVR.... If had more vacation days I would ride to KC, then on to SL.... can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need....

Brian, I haven't seen you for a while. We'll have to get together at the AVR. Anybody got any good ideas for a "meet and greet". I think maybe early for breakfast some where or later in the day as most people are busy with rides, tours and other activities during the day. Somebody that is local might have some ideas on where we could meet. Usually some orginization puts on a pancake feed at the park on Saturday.

Also for anyone that might be coming through Omaha (or staying) Thursday night. D&J Motorsports and the River Cities Victory Riders is hosting "The Party On The Way" They put on a pretty good feed and then leave on Friday every bodyrides to the AVR togeather. We usually have a small group out of Sioux City that meets them and DesMoines group around Storm lake area and ride on to Spirit Lake. Anybody that needs more info can PM me your phone # and I will get in touch with you.

Me and the wife will be there, not sure if we will ride up Thursday or Friday. We live in SE Iowa right off 218/27/380 and are about 7 hours away. If anyone needs a free bed on your way through let me know. The fridge always has cold beverages and the grill is always on the ready. Would enjoy getting together with other VV riders to put a face with a name. Let me know if your riding by and we can set something up.

Great idea setting up a meeting place, but no one has proposed any plan. this will be my 3rd year down there and it is a good time. So I will start with an idea. Sat. morning say 10:00 infront of the band stage everyone will be able to figure out were that is. I will be the one with the all black Vision with mini Apes.

There is usually a poker run put on by Polaris Saturday morning. We could hit that as a group and tour the lake area after the meet and greet if anyone is interested.

For everyone heading to the AVR, be careful of speed traps. The state is in need of cash and they are ticketing more than ever. As a matter of fact on 380 between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids they are now using cameras. Signs are posted, but you have to look to see the signs. I travel the interstates daily and I see twice as many state patrol on the road, and many of them have people pulled over.

Be safe.

Ya........like no one else here is grey, or bald for that matter. I happen to have it all. I'm 6'8", 300 lbs, and what hair I do have is turning grey, the rest just decided to leave. That's why I own a Vision, if I can't be good looking I at least want to ride something that is.
(Come to think of it .........that's the same reasoning I used when I married my wife) Safe to say I stand out in a crowd.
