I had a stage one kit slip-on installed on my Arlen Ness Vegas and I liked the deep sound they had. I now have had a 2009 victory vision tour premium and I haven't had a chance on hearing the 2 different exhausts. I would appreciate some opinions on some of you that have them on your bike. The level one and level 2 are the same price.

Thanks

I read on post getting Lloyz Cams and such that Level One offered better performance. I have Level One and have been satisfied. I haven't compare it to Level Two, though.

I have a 09 vision tour premium with stage 1. I drilled out the baffels with a hole saw and added a Power Commander v. Great sound and better power.

Showdawg. I came off a 2007 Kingpin with stage 1. I liked the off throttle low noise with great sound on throttle. S1L1 will be the closest you can get to this. I also tried Ness Big Honkers but gave them up as they were too droaning for me on the freeway. But #57, Rick, LOVES his Big Honkers.

My 2009 Tour Premium has S1L2. I have removed the baffles and Love the sound. Deep, throaty, sound I can feel in my chest. Seems to sound even better as time goes on. Occasional pop, which doesn't bother me. I enjoy the sound so much that 80% of the time I ride without the stereo.

I liked the Gatlin's so I went with Stage1 - but also KevinXinated. Sounds GREAT - but not annoying to the other folk.

B.C. is about to get VERY nasty to loud bikers - just about every HD on the road is going to have to go back to stock pipes. And others who are loud enough to trigger the testing gear will also be hit. As will VISITORS to B.C. if they don't conform.

And you KNOW this is coming to a STATE near you .....

I've got S1L2 and they're okay if I'm on it, but they're a little, er, how to describe it..."Phhhtty", or maybe Honda-esque for me the other times. I don't necessarily want to wake the dead, but I'd like more bass.

Boots-how did you remove the baffles? I'm tempted to get a long drill and see if it can be stuck up the length of the pipes, and if not, drill a straight hole in whatever's in the way. Anybody done this? How big a hole? Or multiples? Don't want to trash a grands worth of pipes, y'know. Although, somebody's gonna be first at some point.

Also, Is anybody making anything for these Visions, like Bub's or Cobra or even Rhinehart? Seems like there oughta be a market.

Thanks.

Remove the mufflers and you will see the Catalyst baffles in the head pipe, they are pretty tough but can be drilled or cut out.

Hello,

Approx 18 inches from the rear of the muffler you can drill thru a thin plate. Shine a flashlight up your muffler and you will see it. Some people drill two, half inch holes in each muffler and some drill just one, one-inch hole in each muffler. Sound doesn't change too much from stock, just a bit of a "rumble" to my ears. However it does allow your motor to "rev up" easier.

Sort of a "poor man's" torque tuning of your stock mufflers.

regards

I think he is talking about removing the catalyst in the head pipe. I suggest not doing this, it cannot be redone and some that have checked it will result in minimal HP gain but bottom end torque will drop. I need passing power in 6'th on the HWY.

About 10" from the exhaust end of the pipes are two screws. One inboard, which is a pain, and one on the bottom. Need a special 'Security' bit and offset; I bought a set for $10 at local auto parts store. I actually had to cut down the bit length to almost half so would fit.

Removed the right side first. Just pulled out with some moderate effort. The left side, however, kicked my A$$. Tried everything for about 2hrs and could not get it out. Finally drove it to the dealer, who again told me it pulls right out. After he struggled with it for a bit he told me to leave the bike and they would get it out. They eventually had to remove the exhaust pipes to remove it.

Oh, okay. Previously, I shoved a long rod up my S1L2 exhaust pipe (I know, they have websites for that, LOL) and didn't hit anything, so I thought there was nothing there, and that it's straight through, and so nothing can be done. Kind of like an old glass pack. But it seems, by this thread, that there are plates every so often that can be drilled additionally to make the straight through portion bigger, thus freeing up some restrictions and adding a deeper tone. Is that accurate?

I'm going to take some of these earlier suggestions to heart when I get home tonight, but for those who (like me) can have books written about what they don't know, I appreciate all of your patience and good will. Thanks!

BTW, I didn't know an '08 had a catalyst. If it does, that would sure explain why my right calf gets toasty when the ambient temp gets above 70.

No baffles in my S1L2. Just the end cap you can see, welded to about 3ft of pipe that looks like a cheese grater.

Ihave built 4 different baffles for the L2 mufflers. The last set is on my bike now and we are on to AVR. I am having a little trouble getting the tuning down so performance and fuel milage are exclusive of each other.
