| Hey All!! It's been awhile. Hopefully Santa found evernone healthy and happy!! Santa dropped a set of trunk & saddlebag liners in my stocking. My wife and I planning a trip to Alaska this summer and we want to take our yellow lab - Bo. Bo is currently 4 1/2 months old and already 50lbs plus. We are planning to travel inland via the Alaskan Highway on the way up and Alaskan Marine Highway on the way back. Anyone does this trip? We are currently trying to figure out the Alaskan Marine Highway to take us back to Vancouver Island. We have found the "wags trailers" site which has what appears to be a wonderful trailer. The cost of the trailer itself, with a few addons (which inclues paint), is about $6000, however, with delivery to the closest border, tavel and a ferry ride to go pick it up and then customs at the border, it will cost us about $7000-$8000 in total. Does this sound reasonable for this type of trailer? Or is this just what this kind of thing goes for? Anyone know of other trailers that would do the job? Also, I am looking to install a Hitch Doc hitch. Does anyone have a fav place to order this from? If memory serves do we not have a member of this site that sells them? Has anyone been able to install the hitch without removing the rear tire? Thanks All

Columbia, SC | As far as the trailer goes, if you look for "dog trailers", there are a large amount of dog trailers out there. More designed to carry hunting dogs, or show dogs, or other working type dogs, but some might be small enough to tow behind a bike. It may not look as pretty, but it gets the job done. A search for "hunting dog aluminum trailer" or something like that will get you some of these. And some companies might have some interesting options which might allow for you to tow the dog and also have a compartment for luggage.

Flowery Branch Ga | A while back there was a guy that had a trailer built to carry his Lab and mountain bike. The trailer was convertable to also haul his Vision. It might take a little searching to find it, but it will be worth the hunt. It really was a great design.

| I wounder if your dog needs some kinda of paper's to get across the borders. You don't say where you live but I am sure you have passports but there might be something you need for Fido |

| We live in Courtenay, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. Yes we will need proof of shots for the dog. Jeff, we will be sure to take lots of pics. We plan to travel inland BC up to the Alaskan Highway, then come back down the coast on Marine Highway... Depending on how expensive the ferry system is. |

Cleveland, GA | Bushtec recently came out with a dog trailer, called the Tow-Tow. Starts around $3k.

Sebastopol, CA | I don't have info about a dog trailer, but I can offer you insight on the roads. There is alot of construction on dirt, mud and gravel. Take this into account when you plan your miles per day. We were exhausted some days just going 200 miles because of the roads and weather. I vote for the ferry coming home. It was beautiful, relaxing and I loved talking with others. Note that your dog cannot come up to the decks or room with you. There are times around the clock you can go down to them to feed, walk and toilet them. |

North Orange County CA | Gotta go with the "Doggles". Great product. I also bought a Muttgear padded harness that has a seatbelt loop. My Aussie Shepherd Bob is fixing to learn the art of motorcycling.
