okthenbye, I'm a little curious about the "Big Honkers". They look identical to the Victory Stage 1 Level 1 muffer. In the Ness catalog they mention 2.25" lovercore baffle, which the level 1 has a louvercore in it with 2.25" inlet and 1.625" outlet. Are you running "Tailgunner" tips or the stock tip? Looks like you got a good deal.

I am using the stock tips although the tailgunners might look a little more finished. With the stock tips you have to drill out the 3 rivits and remove the insert. That leaves the open pipe basically. Probably breathes better though. I do feel I need the performance air filter so I ordered one online. Should have it in a couple of days to complete the job.

Does anyone know if the Ness Big Honkers will allow the gatling gun tips to be installed?

Thanks!

I checked out the website, but no mention of the muffler. Keep us posted. Waiting for Victory to step up to the plate is getting old.

Just checked out the website and the new slip-ons are available, just wondering how they compare to the pipes that are currently available..........

VisionTex,

The Ness Honkers are very different from the stage 1 pipes you had posted pictures of. The Ness pipes do not have the small restriction plate in the middle, they have a 2.25" louvered tube exiting into a cone shaped end... the ass end is an open cone almost big enough to put your hand into... making the sound deep with a low rumble.

I just ordered a set from Cycle Dragon. He claims that they work with the gatling gun tips and are quite tunable with the removable end cap and baffle. Claims that the stock baffle requires no special controller or tuning. You can remove some of the fiberglass on the baffle to create your own sound, but that might require some tuning....

Lloyd are you ready?

Yes it is... I simply ground off the brass threaded bushings, and removed the guts and painted the insides flat black, reinstalled 'em with new bolts (& nuts) and rumbled away down the road. I had one spin when I tried to remove the tips anyway... Polaris shouldn't have used thread lock with a brass bushing in the first place.
