I just recently found this forum.

My wife and I both took advantage of year end incentives, a year apart.

She sold her 2004 GL1800a and picked up a 2009 Vision Tour, new, in time for the entire 2010 season.

She is a very experienced rider and this is her favourite bike, every; she has owned quite a few and ridden just about everything else out there.

She rode her bike from the Niagara region of Ontario to Cody, Wyoming and back last year. She liked it even more when she got back then when she left; that has not happened before. Nice for me, no wrenching or modifications trying to make something work for her.

In Dec. 2010, I traded my 2003 FJR1300 for a new 2010 Vision 8 Ball. I am extremely happy with the bike. I realize they dropped the 8 Ball from the Vision line up for the upcoming 2012 model year but I am very glad I have my 2010.

Visions are the reason both of us are riding Victory's.

Welcome aboard!! We're always glad to find new friends, especially those who wear a permanent grin from being VICTORY riders.

Welcome GlenB! Jump in whenever you aren't riding, I know this time of year it's almost all riding, but when you can post you will find a great bunch of folks here that love their Vics and love to share their experiences and what they've learned. Enjoy!!

Welcome to the forum. This site is a wealth of information for Vision owners. Take a minute to do a quick search for any information you may need and there is a good chance someone has posted on it. If not, don't hesitate to ask, we are all helpful and have experience levels from newbie to 100k+.

Welcome GlenB!

I used to ride both sport bikes and Goldwings myself. The Vision is a great do-all, do-everything bike. When my GL1800 riding buddy started giving me crap about his Goldwing being "better" than my Vision because his bike was a little faster than the Vision, I had a couple of Lloydz goodies installed and now the tables are turned. He was (and still is) disappointed that I didn't buy another Goldwing. After test riding the new Goldwing and the new Vision, the Vision won out. I spent less on the Lloydz goodies than he has on plastic chrome for his bike.
He couldn't keep up with the Vision on the "Dragon" either. The Goldwing touches down in corners before the Vision does. Enjoy!

Get a set of the lower wind deflectors for your Vision and it will be cooler to ride than your FJR1300 was in hot weather. Those FJR's are very hot to ride hot weather, in my experience. Actually, so is the GL1800, when compared to a Vision with the lower wind deflectors installed.

Already done before it was delivered back in Feb. 2011, by the dealer in their enclosed trailer, we get WINTER, here

My wife had lowers fitted to here Vision Tour early in the 2010 season so we have had prior experience with them.

The dealer has a professional bike painter paint the lowers in an exact color match to the bikes.

Along with the year end incentive, I received $1,000.00 worth of accessories, my list on the 8 Ball included;

- Lowers

- Electric Wind Shield Adjustment

- Toe Kick Protectors on the fairing

- Thermometer Dip Stick (easier to get a hold of)

Yeah, the FJR's are hot, especially the Gen I's, like I had, the GL1800A wasn't exactly cool, either (swore myself into H E double toothpicks on air filter changes on it, too)

Well. nothing's perfect, not even the Vision. You'll be recalling that vocabulary when the time comes to replace headlight bulbs on your Vision. Honda was smart when they stole BMW's single-sided swing arm idea. Sure makes the rear tire changes a lot easier. Honda sure buried that air filter, didn't they. The Vision isn't really too bad on the tire change, as long as you have a lift. No worse than the GL1500. Everything else on the Vision is a piece of cake, as far as regular maintenance.

Well, I didn't type my other words that I have often used regarding all bikes; "No matter how easy some things are to get at and repair/maintain, there's always something....."

Like the 1100 V Star my wife had years ago, it isn't mentioned much but the battery is real easy to get at to remove/replace, actually easier than on a Vision, but then there's the infamous 1100 V Star oil filter replacement (unless the oil filter kit is fitted to it).

A bike is a study in trying to fit a lot of components in a small space, there always seems to be something that is an access problem, even if a bunch of things are easy to work on.

My wife had some warranty work done on the headlight assembly of the 2009, I checked it out in the maintenance manual; they design does make it unnecessarily difficult to work on.
