New Bohemia, Va | A lot of factors are involved in how long a tire lasts. The number one thing you need to mind is the air pressure. I run around 40 - 41 psi in both front and rear. Also, riding habits and road types will add to your tire wear, like hard braking or rough concrete roadways. I have average habits and average roadways and I get the max out of my Dunlop E3 of anyone I've heard of, around 22,000 at the wear bar on the front, and around 13,000 miles on the rear, average.
Watch your air pressure, that makes the biggest difference. |

Also, keep an eye on the rear air suspenmsion pressures as well..and read the label- make sure you are looking at the correct pressues, with or without trunk....

Watch your air pressure, that makes the biggest difference. +1 This is the exact mileage I am getting on a set of tires. Riding 2 up about 60% of my miles and riding style is average to slightly aggressive. I ride about 40% interstate and the other 60% is mixed state highway, city streets and country roads. I run the same air pressures as well. From what I've read about our bikes and other touring bikes this is very good tire mileage for bikes this heavy. |
