My Powerlet in the trunk fell out, with the wires and and mounting ring falling back inside the innards of the trunk. I removed the trunk with the hope I could access it to reattach, but no luck.

Anyone know how I can get this reinstalled/attached?

You have to take the outer shell off the trunk. You remove the screws inside the truck and the shell will come off you can do it with the truck mounted on the bike.

Inside the trunk itself, or around the rim where the gasket is, or both?

I lost the trunk LOCK a while back. The nut holding it onto the shell fell off and went into the space between the inner trunk and the outer shell. Took a while to get it all apart, but I managed to get it done, then re-attached the lock with Locktite. It's held eversince.

Thanks all. Decided to ride today, but will get to it soon. And will pickup some locktite. Was even thinking about replacing it with a regular cigarette lighter outlet so I don't have to us my adapter.
