Bump bump.. I'm still not exactly sure what it's supposed to do.

Maybe I'm not reading the description properly, but is it supposed to enable the on board stereo to receive signals (a bluetooth enabled Ipod for example) and eliminate the cord, or does it "broadcast" the onboard stereo enabling you to wear a bluetooth enable headset and listen to whatever is on the stereo?

I'm hoping for the latter, as I have a bluetooth enabled stereo headset in my Nolan n103 helmet. My dealer says they are on back order until November.

I guess it goes without saying then that the dealer isn't exactly sure either. I'm hoping for the latter as well.

Dealer told me Saturday that the delivery has been pushed out to Nov.18th. My understanding for what it does.. The on board radio, and Aux functions such as your Ipod etc... that is played through your vision radio can also be sent wireless to your wireless paired headset. Can't wait to get it, curious to see if the sound quality is as good as wired.

That's great news, as long as it's correct.

Quality wise, I can tell you this.... I have the Scala Q4 communications system for my full face helmet. It allows me to stream A2DP (stereo) from my Blackberry. The quality is as good as my Ipod wired into the Scala.

Honestly though, a motorcycle going 70mph with two little speakers velcroed inside a helmet is not a very good way to test for audiophile quality. When I'm on the bike, I sure can't tell the difference between wired and A2DP streaming. Never tested it outside of my full face helmet.

One thing is for certain as far as sound quality goes; it's head and shoulders above trying to pretend the on board speakers are giving me great sound at highway speeds. I don't care what speakers you put in, or how many more watts of power you manage to pump into them.

Plus, although it's unlikely, it is remotely possible that the people in the car next to me don't really appreciate Rush as much as I do!

cchristo,

I have enjoyed Rush since I started listening to my brothers copy of Fly By Night. I have played their music on Vinyl, Cassette, 8-Track, CD, MP3, six string guitar, twelve string guitar and bass.

I play it proud....plus I won't be beside that car very long.

You want to meet up for lunch?

Lunch sounds great. Since I'm currently between jobs, pretty much any time that works for you will work for me. What part of town?

I've been listening to Rush since their first hit "Working Man" hit the airwaves back in the mid 70's. I've been trying to play "Spirit of Radio" on the guitar since the first time I heard it. I play it very enthusiastically, but not so well!

Hmmm, I was rather hoping it would act as a bluetooth receiver so I could have my gps or phone or other enabled device be heard through the radio's aux input. The search continues....

That's easy....There are a lot of bluetooth receivers on the market. If you're just interested in the GPS or cell phone, you probably don't even need to spend the extra few bucks for the stereo (A2DP) versions. You just run it through the AUX cord on the bike. Depending on the configuration, you might have to get a 3.5mm male to female patch cord for it.

If you're just interested in the GPS or cell phone, you probably don't even need to spend the extra few bucks for the stereo (A2DP) versions.

You would link your phone to the GPS, and the GPS would then be synced to the bluetooth receiver. They can be found online for well under $50.00.

I just noticed today that it looks like bluetooth dongle also requires an adapter cable. That's another $70.00, bringing the total price in at over well over $200.00. That's if you install it yourself.

Considering that non-Victory bluetooth receivers can be had for less than $20.00, I'm probably going to pass on this unless it does a lot more, and a lot better, than some of the other versions.

Just do a search for bluetooth audio transmitter on the web.

Here is what I'm looking at.... The only downside I can see to any of these is that you have to either recharge the batteries, or use a seperate power supply to keep them running. Thinking about it though, the charging issue doesn't really matter since the bluetooth headseat is going to need recharging anyway. Charge em both at the same time.

There are quite a few more out there.

I was willing to pay the money Victory was asking until I found out it requires an additional $70.00 wire.

my thoughts also. I bet the adapter is for getting power to the bluetooth & the dongle attaches to the speaker output. I could be wrong.

Here's a weird one for you... just on a whim I put on my (very slim) Jabra Halo bluetooth stereo headphones on under my CF pudding bowl, and went for a ride. The sound was great. Not quite as clear as the skullcandy earbuds I normally ride with, but excellent considering there were no wires. Tons of bass, I can control the volume and skip songs while riding using the touch controls on the headphones, and since my iphone rides in a RAM cradle on the console, I can mess with the playlists as well. Bonus? I can also do phone calls while riding, and when parked I just grab the phone (unplugging the charging cord), and walk away while still talking on the phone or enjoying loud music. I have the same cradle/charging setup in the truck, plus the Bose system can also feed directly from the iphone. What makes this work is the high fidelity of the Halo headphones, and the very small headphone pads.

A cheaper alternative that I am currently using is an Anycom FIPO bluetooth dongle. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anycom-FIPO-A2DP-Bluetooth-iPod-adapter-aud... It works well, I wirelessly play my gps and music from my phone over the bikes speakers. And since it plugs onto the ipod cable it is powered from the bike so no need to recharge it. It does appear they quit making them and the price keeps going up as there are less available.

That Miccus BluBridge is pretty cool, except where does it plug into the Vision's radio/xm system? It needs a headphone jack, which I cannot find anywhere on my Vision...

There isn't one, and to me, that's the only advantage the Vision Dongle and Harness has. It looks like you just have to snap it in to the wiring harness somewhere.

I'm planning on doing the same thing, but I'll be splicing it in to the harness at the point where the signal would be fed into the CB/Intercom system if I had one. That should allow me to turn off the speakers and still receive audio into my Scala Bluetooth helmet set.

One issue I'm not sure of (and it's not a big deal in my case), is that I don't think you can sync more than one headset to a bluetooth transmitter. That means the passenger won't be able to listen to the stereo.

I have read some good reviews for the Sony DRCBT15 Bluetooth Stereo Hands Free Mobile Phone Reciever. It pairs up quite nicely with 2 or more bluetooth headsets. I have not tried this but they reviews are out there.

If this item works as well as the Sena SMH10, it will be a nice addition to the Vision. I have the SMH10 Dual pack and it works extremely well. The intercom is amazing. I have set it to VOX mode and we can talk to each other whenever we feel like it without having to touch the button. I have it paired with my iPhone and my wife always comments on how she can't tell I am on my bike when she calls me. I also have it paired with an iPod Touch. This also works very well and allows me to control the playlists and songs from the controls on the bike. I haven't tried it with GPS app on my iPhone, but I am sure it will work as well as the other devices do. I paid $360 for the set and I already had the iPod and iPhone. I have it installed in my Nolan N103 and it fit on it very well and the speakers fit right into the area of the helmet that the Nolan system would have gone.

Ok, I've been following this thread for awhile and I'm about ready to step off and buy the Sena SMH10. From everything I've read it seems to be a great answer to streaming music from my Droid and also communicating with my wife who rides a Vegas. But before I do, I have to ask if anyone knows of a solution that would do all of this as well as integrate into the Vision's audio. It would be ideal if I could use the CB to talk to other riders as well as everything the SENA unit does. Any input would be appreciated.

For those following this thread, I've finished making and installing my bluetooth dongle. I've submitted a pretty detailed account as well as a few pictures here:
