| Does this motor quiet down at all as the miles build up or does it always sound as though its going to come apart?? Never owned a bike with such a noisy motor. It seemed to have gotten noisier after the first 50 miles and gradually getting quieter. input, or suggestions welcome. |

So Cal | The trans will quiet down after the 500 mi. oil change. I never noticed any noise from the motor. My HD had the S&S gear drive cams and I couldnt hear them either. Everyone else could. |

Stockton, Ca. | Just ride the heck out of it! The noise gets softer after the stage 1 exhaust upgrade. Not really but you wont notice it as much... :-) |

CALGARY ALBERTA | You will notice some cam chain noise when new, but this does lessen with time. Don't forget that you have a new amplifier window that holds in more noise because you are letting less wind to distort your hearing. ( 9" wider fairing than HD) If you put an HD motor in the same chassis you be amazed at how much noise they generate. Just enjoy BB |

| Thanks guys but making the bike louder to offset the engine noise wasn't in the cards. Had the oil changed at 500 and it was much quieter, but with 500 more on it in the two days of riding since its back to more noise. I'm going to switch it over to synthetic at 2500 which will be before the month is out and see if that doesn't help. I may go to stage 1 but not for a while, at least next summer.. |

Harrisburg, PA | I replace a quart of Vic Oil with lucas oil stabilizer. It has made a difference in all three of the Vics I have owned. |

| after two fill ups I read the manual and realized that I needed to put in a min of 91 octane and that has quieted things alot, also once you get into gears 5 and 6 it smooths out. |

Eden Prairie, MN | I don't like a noisy bike, so I like the stock pipes, windscreen, fairing and so on. The drawback,is like someone mentioned above, now I'm in a sound chamber with a Vtwin in it. It sounds like a very powerful sewing machine. Like the others, I usually have my headset on listening to my tunes anyway so I hear what I want to hear. |

| Noise seems to have decreased with the Amsoil OR it might just be that its good and broken in now, OR I may just have gotten use to its noises. Regardless it got much quieter. |

New Bohemia, VA | yeah mine sounded kinda 'tickey' Saturday with the wife riding. I thought I would go Amsoil with the next change in hopes that it will ride cooler, quieter, shift smoother and go faster. But hey, how do you improve on perfection? |

South of Houston Tx | This weekend I installed my GPS, Radar detector, and XM Roady, after I got the center console off I decided I needed more shrink tubing than what I had on hand so I needed to run to Radio Shack. Now I could have taken the car but I would rather ride the Vision with her guts hanging out than drive the car any day so I fired her up and headed to town. Without the center console there to block some of the noise you can really hear the engine, so I figure a lot of the noise you hear comes up through the handle bar area. |

Austin, Texas | Bothersome noise question: My Vision now has 2700 miles and seems to have this problem less often. However, when the bike is hot and I'm stopped at an intersection, occasionally when I blip the throttle or when I increase throttle to take off, there is a really nasty sound that seems to be from the front or right front of the motor. It is hard to describe, but has an underlying screech or squeek like a belt and a larger component like metal on metal. Only happens rarely now, but has happened many times. My wife heard it the first time it happened and freaked out.
