1. First thing you want to do is open Microsoft Photo Editor (assuming that you are using MS Winders. If you're using a Mac, you're on your own) and open up the picture you want.

2. Click the IMAGE pull-down menu, then choose RESIZE...

3. In the little pop-up window choose "Pixels" for the UNITS and set the WIDTH to 640

4. Once the image is resized go the FILE-->SAVE AS... and give your new pic a new name you can remember and save it somewhere that you can find it. Use Save As... instead of Save or you will overwrite your original pic.

5. Now make a new post in the thread you want and click the "Attach a file after posting" box.

6. Once your post is done and the box is checked click "Submit" and you will be directed to a screen to allow you to upload your photo to the post.

If I did it all correctly you should see a pic of a Grey Vision here. If not, well...

Will the caps only work on a Level 2 or 1 exhaust? Would they help my stock pipes?

No these are for level "2" only! Level 1 caps are are for looks only. These are a direct replacement for the Level "2" baffle system that is removed by removing 2 allen bolts near the end of the pipe. They replace the baffle that is about three feet long. Victory brands their level "2" pipes with the "Victory Performance" right on the pipe. These are not mufflers with shields and fake ends. They are very easy to modify or change back. Devilboy read it wrong these are not level 1 end caps.

I just spoke to Mike at Westport in detail about the baffle system. Nice guy and very knowledgeable about the system. No loss at the low end and no need for any variance to L2 download. Installing, you need to remove the lower panel by the exhaust (6 screws) to get at the 2 allen head bolts that hold the current baffles in. Vic uses a special allen head, so you would need to purchase a hollow head allen to remove (Mike, what size??). He said that pulling them out could be a tad difficult if you have a ton of miles on the pipes. He uses a 5 Lb body panel puller (I don't know if this is the correct name for the tool) and says this makes it quite easy. Onve installed says they look exactly like the L2 because they have the same caps that are machined locally.

Says they sound close to HD's Reinhart pipes on their touring models.

They are going to call me about the price. I think I am going to go for it depending on the cost!

Perfect!! I am truly disappointed with the LACK of sound that I paid for with the S1L2 exhaust. So, if I;m going to have, according
to Victory, acceptable backfiring, I might as well have it be closer to the sound that I expected from the exhaust that I purchased..

There's instructions on how to remove the S1/L2 baffles in this thread along with a link for a tamper-resistant hex key. Keep in mind that some people have TR Allen bolts while others have TR Torx bolts holding the baffles in.

Are these new billet end caps just caps with no baffles attached? If so, is it possible for you to get some measurements for me, like the diameter or the whole cap and the diameter of the hole? I might make a temporary one to put in and see how it sounds. If I like I think I might go to some pretty billet ones, too.

Here is some linking. To help you with sizing. Thera are actually 2 different types of bolts out there. Mine turned out to be security torx. Many others turned out to be security hex. Here are the links to S1L2 Baffle removal: http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=3472&pos...
and
http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=2223&pos...

I am running my S1L2's without baffles period. I also have a VFCIII so I can tweak the A/F a little if needed. I really didn't need to. I have not had any problems without mine. I love the sound. IT IS NOT THAT LOUD. It is a deeper exhaust note and carries a little further to be sure but again IT IS NOT THAT LOUD. It is quite managable and isn't loud enough to get the cops attention. I comfortably ride with mine removed. I hear rock on my radio fine at volume level 12 with the AVC set to low on the highway at 70+mph. My old V-star with Cobra pipes was louder with the Cobra baffles left installed. It sounds nothing like those guys running around with drag pipes that scream and pop. There is still some deadening that takes place internally at the catalytic converters. I had PM'd one of our favorite forum mechanics and asked about it hurting the engine. That's where I got the info about the catalytic converters. They still provide some back pressure. These caps would be ideal because the pipes do get alot of soot at the tips with them removed. Also, you have to work at getting the baffles out after removing the 2 security screws. if you got some miles on the bike. I had 10K on my bike when I took mine out. It was a bitch to get one side out. One trick is to pop the saddle bags and pop the bottom clips out of the "M" shaped trim peice. You don't have to completely remove the "M" shaped peice. This will allow you to get to the 6 screws he was talking about to remove the rear valence.

Frank, I stopped by Westport today. Yes they are working on it. The machinist used aluminum round stock that was left over from a previous job. He's checking to see if more is available. You should here from them soon.

+1 for these caps. I'll be right there with you guys to order them when they show. So that makes at least 3 of us. When they're available I'd appreciate it greatly if someone got my attention. When I get back I'll work on getting another youtube vid on the boards of my lvl2 pipes baffle free. Unless someone beats me to it, which wouldn't hurt my feelings any to be sure. I think we'd generate a lot more interest in this mod if some folks on the fence could hear/see what's going on with these pipes without the baffles.

Stump, read all the posts. It's easy. Do I think they sound better than A-Bombs? Yes, but that's my opinion. What sound you looking for? There is another thread that talks more about install, this will help.

The install is pretty straight foward but i'm just planning on cutting my baffels off the L2 tips and calling it good. Just wanted to see how much louder it is on the highwayvs normal around town and just how cool it sounds.

What you are doing will be louder than adding the end caps. The caps on the stockers a very thin and will not create any back pressure. I did start my bike with nothing, it's loud!!
